How do you prefer your fansubs?

Just fuck my subs up, senpai.
>>160463742
RAW
Right, obviously.
commie
>>160463742
Right without the TL note
>>160463742
Left but with a TL note for people unfamiliar with English-language honorifics.

>>160464511
>>160463742
My sides!
>>160463742
This is so dumb because next to sushi, sensei is probably the most well known Japanese loanword.I do MMA and its really common for teachers to be called sensei, even if the martial art in question is not Japanese.
>>160464157
Right with the TL note only when necessary
>>160463742
Left is the correct way.
Through the Dark Lord, Amen.
>>160464781
to be fair, it's the first episode.
>>160464655
who's the incompetent who colored that sub with the same background color?
>>160464733
Hey now. You're trying to summon HIM aren't you?
>>160464733
>muh sides is something people say in real life
God, I hope it's not, that would be even more worse than the people who say "lol".
>>160466795
lol is actually a valid dutch word. I've said it out loud before
I have one rule.
I have ears, if you make something harder just to convey something that I could've heard then you fucked up.
Easy examples are all the fucking translated shiritori games where I need a dictionary because of the exotic (and often dumb) English words.
>>160463742
Dub Kino > Raw Purism > Meme Subs
>>160463742
The one on the right, but with no translator's note.
>>160464511
>not "doushitan desu ka"
>switching between polite and casual speech when talking to the same person between two sentences
Dosdet
I miss when groups used to put out pdfs explaining things.
Some got deep into nip culture and why things you otherwise wouldn't have noticed were interesting or significant.
They could justify the choices they made about certain words or phrases in a way that wasn't obnoxious.
Some would be separated into `to be read before/after' sections so as not to spoil anything.
You learned shit and the overall watching experience was greatly improved.
Fansubbing used to mean something - Shit was serious business.

Ok gramps, calm down.
