I'm watching the third kizu movie right now
So what exactly is the reason why the chronology is all fucked up in this series. Had I seen these movies before the other seasons I would have enjoyed this series so much more.

Yes and I'm sure that would work pefectly. Delaying the most important part of the story for like three seasons isn't exactly a very good way of story telling

The last season is coming out in August all at once. Either order is fine, just don't do chronological.
