We spend a good 99% of the time spewing shit all over GT when we talk about it, but list some things that you think it did correctly.
I'll start- the designs. The designs of DBGT characters are some of the most marketable things in the franchise, being included in nearly every videogame (even up to the current generation) and sprouting a lot of figures/merch. Villains all look almost as if their backstories weren't complete asspulls, and Super Saiyan 4 (though receiving mixed opinions) was an actual design instead of a recolor or hair/aura change.
Bringing back tails and great apes. The OP and EDs were also all great, with ED4 really being a fitting end to the long saga of Dragon Ball.

Super Saiyan 4
Tails coming back and Vegeta's Final Shine Attack. That's it.
Continuity. Even the asspulls had reasons to happen based on both the original story and Z (like the Shadow Dragons) and the backstory of the Saiyans (SSJ4 having its roots on the saiyan heritage was an overall better idea than the God-Ki transformations). The first arc being a search for the Black Star Dragon Balls was a great homage to the original series.
That said, most of GT was poorly executed

They didn't replace Goku with DBZA Goku.
GT tackle alot of good plot points as well, the shadow dragon arc in particular. You can feel so much stake, more than ever, near the last ep, when they couldn't use the dragonballs anymore.
