Not the best, but certainly not the worst
Hakase doesn't deserve all the shit she gets

After a recent re-read of the series, I've come to the conclusion that Nakamura is potentially best Nichijou.

Every scene with her is always funny, and her character is very interesting and tragic. She keeps wanting to get closer to Nano out of science, but she loses focus of things in her life (Sakamoto, her teaching responsibilities, health, etc...) as well as gaining absurd thoughts (shipping with Sideburns sensei, the Shinonome lab being a traphouse, etc...). Her comedy comes from how she keeps believing she is of logical mind, yet she has never progressed in her goals and objectives, and even torments herself through ridiculous situations and trends.

Second-best Nichijou is pretty much Mio's sister.
