Vivid shit and Force is what killed the franchise, StrikerS was just a stepping stone for it.

The issue is that they simply made too big a time skip after A's and could not revert back, so they tried to renew the series with make shift copies of the original characters we loved, but this caused also a massiv power creep.
The A's were considered to be rare talents that appear every few decades or centuries with that much latent mana and talent.
Force additionally tried to shove an entirely new and unrelated male character down our throats, while we all recognize this as a mahou shoujo, that has debatable yuri tendencies.

They can, they have released a lot of supplementary manga and drama cds that are not always placed at the end of the timeline.

That's a big missed opportunity. Force and Vivid were weak entries in the franchise but I don't know if their placement in the timeline is one of the reasons they turned out like that.

StrikerS was the height of Nanoha's momentum, though.

The problem is that they introduced a character that wasn't all that popular and tried to make her the new protagonist of the franchise in a tournament story, and kept the age transformation shit that nobody really likes. There's Force, too, but that wrapped up before people completely stopped holding out for a recovery.

They could have thrown the StrikerS cast into a new conflict in a proper season 4. They could have just followed Nanoha and Fate at work, or Subaru and Teana. There are all sorts of things that they could have done to continue building the hype. Instead, they went full blown "what the fuck are you doing".

That was just the stupid assumptions of the writing staff... assumptions which were completely refuted by StrikerS popularity, with Nanoha and Fate still at the top of the food chain in terms of fan attention. In other words, bullshit.

Well they tried to sell cardboard cut out copies of the chars everyone already loved from MSLN and A's.
Just let me tell you god knows how often I watched these two seasons.
I was a regular blood and plasma donor, up to two times a week for a few years.
I watched these seasons there all the time as the waiting time and procedure all together easily took up to 2-3h.

I think they are a main problem since StrikerS.
With MSLN and A's the problem was not that prominent even if it still existed, but I think most were occupied with "Fate's ass is a miracle of the universe" meme.
When StrikerS side material released Nanoha's and Fate's time allocations and the fact that to this day they share one bed it was like filling a fire fighter plane with gasoline instead of water and dropping it on a small smolder.

I don't think so, only a couple of them are ocationally problematic on /a/ and /m/, but their posts are a a drop in the ocean compared to what ACK and bitch kun do. The rest of that small group pretty much vanished soon after Vivid came out, perhaps NanoFate married couple antics were too much for them, or maybe they gave up after they got massively purged from their forum on AnimeSuki, or maybe they were smarter than all of us and realized Nanoha was in a steady decline.

I don't care how Vivid ends. I just want it to end so they'll announce whatever they're going to do next. It seems unlikely that they'd cancel their last manga immediately after giving the series two movies. We used to have 5 ongoing manga until last year. Now Vivid's the only one still going.

So what's next? A Vivid Strike manga? Finishing Force? Something completely new? Anything but more Vivid.

I once in a while see Nanoha threads and I always see you Nanohafags discussions always turning out negative, from what I've picked up there's a massively dedicated shitposter, but apparently there's a series degradation as well which many people are not happy with, even in nipland as well. Could someone explain to me what exactly happened to crush your series and fanbase in such a manner? It would be interesting to hear about to say the least. Maybe this will finally give me an excuse to watch Nanoha after all these years.

Nanoha discussion was fine* for the last five years prior, but you're right. Some things have happened that undercut a lot of the fanbase.

-One of the major story continuations went on indefinite hiatus
-The side story that was meant to be cute SoL became the major story continuation
-There is a giant nebulous void as to what happens story-wise afterwards, because the side-story keeps marching into the future while the main story is kept suspended in time with the cancelled series
-To avoid this, they've made sidestory after sidestory without really answering where the future of the series lays
-This has resulted in the first and second seasons being retold twice, with maybe a third time looming on the horizon. A movie about the PSP games, and still no real direction of where it's all going.
And
-King Records is the prime driving force behind Nanoha, and they've severed their ties with several of the VAs.

If you want to watch Nanoha, there is no better time than now because you can watch at your pace and take all of it in without worry of falling behind. You can even watch the retelling and the normal series at the same time to spot the subtle differences.
