Can someone tell me why Fate/stay night VNfags are so fucking

Read/play the VN and find out.

It's not limited to Fate. All primaries are like this.

Literally nothing wrong with Fate/zero's adaptation. In fact, I'm hard pressed to find anything that's been adapted better.

For being the most action packed route, UBW was very boring to watch thanks to Ufo's curse of endless exposition, except when the studio made up shit like Caster's flashback or the based as fuck epilogue.

Somehow they made Archer vs Lancer 2 and the clusterfuck going on in the church boring as shit

I like FSN and I think there's absolutely nothing with zero as extra material accompanying the FSN universe. But Zerofags love to shit on FSN after they spoilered themselves watching zero first even though it's supposed to be consumed after FSN. And Shirou (in the VN) is a way better MC than Kerry, but Zerofags would fucking rip me apart for saying this.

It's not that those pieces of exposition are removed so much as they're altered into a more visual form where the exposition is instead conveyed by the actions of the characters on screen. It adheres to the "show don't tell" rule, and bookfags/VNfags/etc. are too autistic to realize this.

I watched Zero before reading the VN and I loved both.
I thought that both Kiritsugu and Shirou were great protagonists for different reasons. I believe if it wasn't for Zero, I wouldn't have gotten interested in reading the VN in the first place.
I believe that Zero is better than Fate and Unlimited Blade Works while Heaven's Feel is the best.
I believe Saber, Rin, and Sakura are all cute as fuck and great love interests for Shirou for different reasons.

The autism comes from the fact that the only source that actually completely explains the universe is the VN, and if you haven't read it, you have no idea what you're talking about.

That's a strawman argument. Most adaptations don't end up THAT bad. And FYI, The Hobbit movie trilogy ended up being a bloated mess because Warner Bros. forced Jackson to make it a trilogy since the studio wanted more money. Jackson was going to make it 2 movies at most originally. But I digress. The point is that it's rare for adaptations to suck THAT bad.

However, key scenes from the VM are just... boring in the anime, at best. Archer using UBW for the first time is a good example.

F/Z is a nearly perfect adaption from the Novel, imo. I can't immediately think of a better LN adaption I know of.

Ufotable's adaptations explained the basic and most important details of the Nasuverse and the Holy Grail War just fine. If they went into the minutiae like the VN did, it wouldn't work well for a good TV show. Take a look at the Wachowskis trainwreck space opera Jupiter Ascending. 2/3's of the movie is incessant infodumping on the entire minutiae of the lore of the universe and how shit works. It's fucking boring. Ufotable was wise to stick with explaining the basic details and leaving the minutiae out of the script. You don't need infodumping on every little detail of the Nasuverse to understand the story of Fate/stay night.

IT's not random details - Shirou's powers are a core part of his character and the themes, True Magic is a big part of Medea's threat as a villain and the worldbuilding (tying into Gilgamesh's motivation), tactical aspect of fights is skipped over because apparently characters can't think in a TV show.

Let's not pretend this had anything to do with format, the same director butchered another TM adaptation the same way in film. He is just an incompetent fuck and you look silly for defending it

Episode 6 of Kara no Kyoukai was admittedly the weakest of the movies but that doesn't mean that UBW got a bad adaptation. You're just nitpicking.

Argument by assertion isn't a fucking argument. Name the episodes and timestamps where these are found in the UBW anime:

- projection explanation from the common route
- Shirou trying to trace Gil's swords when they first meet
- all of Shirou's monologues about Tohsaka
- all of Shirou's monologues during Archer vs Caster
- most of Shirou's inner debate on his ideal throughout the route
- Rin's dreams (not just the one after she is kidnapped) about Archer
- all of Caster's backstory (in her mythology, not the shit with her Master)

All very important scenes that were cut in the anime. "They just had no time for it, it's a TV show!" isn't an argument when they faithfully and slowly adapted every single slice of life cooking scene and added mountains of filler.
