While the other two contenders are dilly-dallying around and getting flustered about how to approach MC, she actually makes MC develop a habit of hanging out with her where they can gradually get more comfortable around each other. I think this is more like the Boku no Hero Academia of Nisekoi. The appeal in the writing isn't that it's doing something unique, it hits all the cliches, it's that it's a post-Nisekoi title that takes the same old story and gives it a second opinion.

The characters understand their situation better, and even when they're dense you understand why it's happening instead of it just being a matter of fact. Rizu actually does have communication issues, Yuiga gets the idea of romance and has a libido but he reins himself in for an actual good reason, Fumino is aware of the situation and tries to mediate it.

It's still very possible that everything will go wrong 50 chapters from now, but I'd safe there's definitely been more progress in the 24 chapters it's had compared to Nisekoi's first 24. The starting point was further since there's no mutual secret crush going on, but Uruka aside, the rest of the cast has already seen slow development in their relationships. At this time there's consideration of romance in Bokuben, while in Nisekoi the progress was still effectively zero.
