Since they run their businesses that way, it must make business sense to them. Or the production committee wouldn't do it that way. Put yourself into their shoes and imagine why you would accept that method.

In consumer product manufacturing, this is called JIT (Just In Time). However, anime media shows are made more cynically than consumer products (foods and goods). In anime, if the show is going to bomb, the show can be cancelled and the latter episodes will NOT be completed. This represents a significant time and cost savings. If the show was already completely animated, a lot of money is wasted because the TV station will not air the show because its advertisers hate hate hate it.

Or if the merchandise is selling poorly, the animation can be changed to move emphasis to different characters. Of if the show is a hit, more animators might be hired for the last few episodes to juice them up so they can be used in final marketing campaigns.

These advantages occur when shows are not fully completed before airing starts for episode one.

Young Andrew would be more or less the same as the actual Andrew we have, but his debates with Chariot would be more intense. After his father dies during the 10 year timeskip he becomes a little bit more mellow in overall attitude but is also very anti.magic. He has a soft spot for Akko because she reminds him of Chariot and a soft spot for Diana because he sees her as a little sister, but is a bit torn she's dedicating herself to witchcraft.

Deep down he wonders what hapened to Chariot ever since the incident and has a very cordial relationship with Blackwelll because he's friends with Louis, but he knows he's been involved with witchcraft for no good reasosns.
