One things for certain though and it's a pet peeve of mine, for all the drama/action anime there are, I've seen way too little characters going through anything that resembles real life distress. No anxiety attacks, no crying themselves to sleep, etc. Most of these stories even feature teenagers who are usually in one of the worst stages in their life- they're weak, stressed, and emotional.
