TADA is the main man behind Rance and the father of the Rance series and the overall director of the plot. He is male though the artist for Rance I (YUKIMI - a girl) was who decided that Sill should be a slave.

Two other people had a lot of influence in writing Rance since the early 90s - Tori and Purin. Tori is a woman and Purin is male. Purin is actually responsible for Rance having a really strong male cast beyonds just Rance and Patton effectively being the second protagonist of Rance IX is because of him.

Tori was the main writer for every game in that she helped develop the plots and write dialogue. She is who people refer to when they say Rance was written by a woman. In 2009 she left Alicesoft but until then she was the main writer for Rance games (with TADA still being number 1).

Since 2009 its been an all male writing team for Rance.

That's a valid point, I realize in hindsight that sentence could've been a lot clearer. What I meant to convey was, misconceptions dispelled would be about how people lived or conducted themselves in their daily lives rather than misconceptions based on historical events (Granted, the injection of fantasy elements still muddles this to certain degrees, but I strive to maintain the overlapping universal constants that would be realistically similar in both this parallel world and ours)
