Dunno about narehate but I think the idea that Reg's body is a container has some merit from the part where he goes berserk. He later says it felt like multiple people were inside him and "one" of them took over. With all we've seen of souls being an actual thing in the setting, the fact that they can get trapped in bodies like Mitty, the fact that they can inhabit more than 1 body like Boner, the fact that "containers" exist and the mystery of Reg as a "robot with a soul" so to speak, I think something along the lines of him/his kind existing through some means of depositing souls inside indestructible special containers in order to freely exist in the Abyss can be a thing. Bondrewd is evil on a whole other level, made all the more horrifying that he is wearing the guise of a man not just in body but also in his refined and eloquent demeanor that creates this polarizing effect that really shows that his every action, every movement, every spoken word serves only the purpose of furthering his grand machinations while lacking anything else whatsoever that could define him as human.
No matter how much you may hate him, Bondrewd is such a brilliantly characterized antagonist that I fear the rest of the series will not be able to live up to his legacy.

Eh, I like Bondrewd because despite being a monster he wasn't a hypocrite. He was willing to use himself as the base for his own whistle. Yeah you have dismissed that but it shows what resolve he had before warping his mind irrevocably. Maybe.

Ultimately though he's a very fun villain and it's hard to completely hate him. His actions are extreme but he did them in the name of progress. Even torching that moon whistle in the 4th layer was for the right reasons since there was the looming threat of the insects spreading. His constant optimism and curiosity make for a character that isn't just the usual mad scientist archetype where their jovial nature is eventually betrayed for their ego. And his closing words are touching because I believe he's very sincere. He is the shadow of a man long since removed from humanity. His actions against his own servants, and the many children were abominable, but bondrewd manages to be greater than that. His death is very strong and his role as a villain was intrinsically tied to the story for two volumes. I liked him quite a bit.

If there's one thing that that we've learned here I think it's that in the end he was as genuine and passionate in his beliefs that we know he stood by everything he said, and while he had a habit of speaking in a complex and misleading fashion when beneficial he never uttered a false word when it came to explaining those beliefs, especially to his daughters.

Now considering one of his lessons to Prushka that she took to heart was that to keep on going can be one of the most difficult tasks, this puts a whole new perspective on it. Until now I'd taken that as a line of pure bullshit he fed her to help her in persevering through the immense pain of the operation in order to produce him a lifestone with her pure love.

Only now do I realize how possible it is that, as it usually does where parenting is concerned, the lesson he taught her reflects his own true and personal belief that to keep on going as he has subjecting the innocents he loved to unprecedented atrocities while manipulating their emotions to produce favorable results, might actually have been something he understood was unspeakably horrible and felt it in his heart so deeply that it almost overcame his nigh-indomitable ambitions as a brilliant scientist, enough to point it out as a remarkable difficulty to a man who practically shapes reality in his mortal hands with the sheer power of his own ingenuity, but in the end that drive he taught her to keep on going no matter what tries to hold you back dwarfed his ethical misgivings and demanded the sacrifices through him no matter how horrifically evil. He may have very possibly, very genuinely felt the pain of losing as many children as he has while concealing it all behind two masks, one literal and one metaphorical.

Is it possible, in a completely non-ironic sense, we are reading one of the genuinely deepest antagonists in modern manga these days?

Reminder that Ozen appears at chapter 12 so that'd mean they'll need to adapt 4 chapters. It's very tight I don't think it'll happen.

An incredibly young girl gets left hanging naked with ropes digging into her groin and tied up in a very sexualized way, latter she's shown being spanked naked, and they get something that seems like its for electrocuting people, well presumably nonlethal amount of electricity is used but still. Tortured and sexually abused for minor offenses, and most of it seems to be done by this via old lady in charge of the orphanage who seems to see the children more as future income then actual people judging by her speech of diving down to honor their parents to fetch items that all strictly belong to the company. I didn't think it was possible to hate a character this much, that wasn't directly considered a villain by the story.

Considering how everyone else treats this sexual abuse, torture, and even some casual disregard for human life, so casually and like it's only reasonable, evil old lady head of orphanage, might not be the only one like that. The story seems to like to have cute, bubble, positive in the foreground and horrifyingly negative in the background. Currently only on chapter 5.
