There were probably a lot of nice moments in the first half dozen or so timelines when Homura still had "hope" instead of running on pure momentum.

I would be fine with a season that just explores the early doomed timelines more, it would be nice to see things like Mami making it all the way to Walpurgis which she might do if Homura stayed with her and Madoka like glue, or even new magical girls from outside the city teaching her things.
