I had another Raildex dream again. This time I was playing video games with Delta Force. Touma kept losing due to complete bullshit, Pierce was fucking god mode at almost every game, and Tsuchimikado was just cracking jokes the entire time and wasn't giving a fuck. While not very impressive stat-wise as far railguns go, since actual railguns are capable of achieving speeds of possibly more than ~5000 m/s. Take note that Mikoto is a middle-schooler that can fire eight shots of these per minute, which is on par with "typical" railguns.

Assuming the coin comparable to the size and weight of a U.S. quarter, one can assume that the coin she uses has a weight of about five grams. Using this formula we can get he muzzle energy:

Energy = 0.5*(mass)(velocity)2 = 0.5*(0.005kg)(1030m/s)2 = ~2652.25 joules
So Mikoto outputs a bit more damage than a semi-automatic assault rifle.

Keep in mind what the muzzle is considered to be in this case (Misaka's hand). In a typical gun, the projectile gets slowed down by air resistance after leaving the barrel since it is no longer propelled. I know it's probably really easy to think it'll be related to the Sisters/Last Order/Will, but I actually think he's going to find out something about himself. Judging from what we learned in NT18 about Aleister and his children, I think it's safe to say that Accelerator is probably not his kid through science/semen magic. Thanks to Kamachi pointing out Accelerator never had a family and really wants one, I can't help but think the family he lost is going to be important. And NT18 was nothing but a family drama. So the two things may be somewhat related after all. Perhaps Accelerator is somewhere on the Crowley family tree. I've always felt he was something that "didn't belong", just like the Sisters aren't entirely natural. Him being a human experiment like the Sisters might very well be part of the reason they decided to show him mercy.

Take a look at Worst's "railgun", which has no orange streak, lightning trail, shockwave, etc. but behaves like a bullet fired from a gun. It gets accelerated to Mach 1 while leaving her hand via magnetism. Mikoto does the same for her railgun before the actual railgun component to accelerate the coin to Mach 3.
