I agree, but I'm talking mostly abou the gesture drawing and the background.

One of my favourite artists.

Other than his tendency of not drawing backgrounds at all, favouring mood-setting screentones instead, when he does bother to draw them I think they look pretty nice. Suitably cartoony, fitting with the rest of his art.
His gestures and expressions are modelled after old school (pre-80s) gag manga, like Fujiko F. Fujio's work, so it's a matter of you either like it or you don't.
