His entire point was to be irrational, egoistic and beat up Ishida. He was there to make sure Kawai wasn't the only one with ill intents.

Also, his introduction in the manga was rushed. It also made no sense. He just appeared to Kawai's white knight and beat everyone up after she breaks and humiliates someone.
