Every anime is isekai because you self insert therefore getting isekai'd from Earth for a while. Isekai anime is double escapism, for when regular escapism through anime isn't enough and you need the story happen in an entire different world so it doesn't remember of anything from your real life by accident.

Eventually we'll have shows about people that write novels, about people that write isekai novels and about people that write about people writing isekai novels, and like this consecutively, adding another layer of meta-media every time.

I usually watch and read Isekai stuff.
Isekai stuff are an instant watch for me each season, but holy shit couldn't I stomach this smartphone garbage.
Everything is just so bland that I was struggling to keep watching already by the halfway point of the second episode, so I skipped ahead and the guy fucking cures the blind duchess lady, I dropped it at this point.
This is the most inoffensive and by the books isekai I've ever seen, everything is just so bland, the MC isn't fun to watch at all it actually hurts to watch how bland and inoffensive he is, down to his voice and speech, the shit just keeps happening like it's some checklist and the animation is just fucking cheap as shit.
Don't even get me started on the smartphone shit.

I expected a show like this to have the MC just solve his problems with this piece of technology while letting his harem do most of the actual fighting. Like how in Oda Nobuna no Yabou the MC used his phone to play sounds of battle to scare off a small army by making them think he was some sort of grand wizard.
But no, on top of letting MC keep his phone, let it be charged with magic and let it still use apps and the internet, God also gives him enough strength to fuck almost everybody up as well as allow him to use ALL magic, even rare unique magic barely anyone can use, effortlessly.
What's the point of letting him keep the phone if God's still gonna give him cheat like abilities?
It should either be the phone, or the hero like abilities, yet this fucker gets both, making it so he doesn't fucking need to really on the phone like a life line because his dumbass made a bad choice like Kazuma.
For a show with Smartphone in the title, there's really barely any use of smartphone.
Not even for the girls I'm able to keep watching.

'Self-insert' doesn't exist for third generation Otaku, nor is this kind of stuff made for that purpose. Otaku see artificial spaces as exactly that - completely dissociated from reality. Real world simulacrum (physical ones at least) have very little bearing on what kind of fantasyscapes they consume.
