The main point against that is how Serval instantly reacted with some kind of recognition when hearing the other Serval's voice in the hotsprings, but she never reacted like that to Mirai's or Kaban's voices. I imagine they would've assigned a bus per family, so it'd be like dad and mom and a kid or two inside. You get picked up at the hotel and then take the underground highway to whatever area you were signed up for that day. The driver area seems small, probably to discourage jap dads from jumping in the driver's seat. Inside the bus part looks big enough to sit for a few hours. The bench seats were probably great for kids who would get worn out pretty quick and want to lie down and sleep on the way back to the hotel.

Lemme tell you what I know. According to one of the episodes: Ceruleans are made when Sand Star dust touches inorganic matter (Volcanic rock [Like the one in episode 12], silicone, etc). What i got from the last two episodes was that the park always had an occasional cerulean presence. However, with increased Sand Star activity, there were an increase that resulted in ghe evacuation of non staff and civilians. It got to the point that staff members also had to evacuate while the government intervenes with military force (Hence the unexploded ordnance and shot down bombers/observance aircraft). We can safely assume that popular support for intervention was canned over time (Mainly because of how stupidly pacifist the Japanese populace are) and the park was abandoned as a result

As far as military intervention, I wonder if they were ordered not to damage the sandstar in order to preserve it for later study? Perhaps the sandstar is sentient and was able to protect itself from damage by downing the bomber(s)?

Seems unlikely that a B-29 would've been flying over Japari Park... I liked what another anon said in the last thread that it was a P-3 aircraft. That makes more sense to me in that it could've been there to measure magnetic anomalies in and around the island with its sensitive instruments. I don't know too much about bombs, but that's quite a few left unexploded. What's the typical failure rate on aerial bombs anyway?

The Japanese ASDF definitely doesn't fly any B2s, so if that is supposed to B2 then the US was definitely involved. Considering modern munitions, high failure rates wouldn't be very common unless they were dropped in the wrong altitudes (Probably to dodge any possible anti air range from hostiles) for them to be armed or the ordnance was dropped due to some damage to the aircraft(s). Satellites would probably make more sense, one would have assumed the hostiles didn't have any anti air capabilities until the P3 went kaboom. The best guess I could make is that there were probably some Cerulean with flight characteristics and/or anti air abilities ala Muv Luv Ayy Lmaos.

That was probably a different generation of friends anon. Even serval said it wouldn't be surprising if there was more than one of the same species of friends. So far, we can infer that the friends we see now are either second generation (Probably a minority) and/or third generation thanks to the evidence presented in the PPP episode (They were the third generation, so we can assume there were other gens of Friends)

I was thinking this too, maybe the bombs were jettisoned for some reason and thus never armed. I don't really know if that's how aircraft bombs work, though. It does imply though that an armed bomber was sent to the island, presumably to drop a couple tons of Freedom™ on some ceruleans, only to have this mission aborted for one reason or another.

If the bomber was brought down by the ceruleans, you have to wonder what happened to the pilots. Not to mention how pissed the US would be over losing an aircraft that cost a couple hundred million dollars. Maybe it was all a covert operation, and the US was caught in the act by Japan and forced to abandon their plans.

The only issue I have with the theory that the sandstar can make friends with just a strand of hair or feather or something is that if that was the case, there should be many more friends of the same species than what we see. I realize that we see only a tiny slice of Japari Park in the show, but we never see more than one of any friend. Even serval, who has lived out in the savannah for some time, isn't sure if multiple friends of the same species exist. We know that other friends of the same species have existed in the past, as we see with that Serval with Mirai and when the PPP girls talk about the previous generations of their idol group, but it's never confirmed that more than one species of friend exists at the same time.

Well, I think in episode 11 that they did say that it wouldn't be uncommon/unsurprising if there were more friends of the same species in the same generation. Then again, it all depends on where the ash from the sand star eruption falls (Along with wind direction and what not), so alot of this has to be by probability. I believe the game version of the park was meant to be a normal zoo in which the sandstar showed up creating Friends which would make concerns about revealing the existence of Friends to the outside world make sense.

However I'm pretty sure the anime version was meant to showcase Friends from the very beginning ("Spend the night with Friends"). And the manga version was open the public and had Friends interacting with humans on a regular basis.
