You guys ever reunited with someone from your old class when you were 9-12? This actually happened to me in elementary school. A new student moved in and joined our class, but she was almost deaf and spoke in a very peculiar way. We were all dicks to her, and I've felt bad about it since.

The movie is decent but leaves out a few things. Mostly a major B plot where everyone is making a movie together rather than just hanging out. The important things is we get a bit more attention to Ueno, Kawai, and most importantly Nishimiya and her family, like the birthday cake scene has a lot of importance. There is also a bit of an epilogue after. Worth reading then watching the movie again.

Overall I'd say you don't miss much but get a LOT of insight with the manga.
