Amanda is just a rebellious spirit and doesn't want to involve herself with it. This. Not just purple team, but more little witches (and even teachers) in general. The number of background witches they designed showed a clear intent to do something along similar lines to what Kyoani have done in shows like K-on! S2 and Hibike Euphonium, but whereas in those shows many of the background classmates had recurring speaking roles, personalities that stood out, and you could even keep track of their relationships and their interests and whatnot by spotting them in the background, LWA's background witches had what? Basically nothing other than they fact their designs were consistent and two of them spoke on more than one occasion.

In fact, I would say the only new little witch with a distinct personality was Wangari, but she was a character who was literally never actually involved in anything, just providing commentary. And Avery being a bitch only seemed to last as long as her first appearance.

I would ask for this... except they didn't make good enough use of 25 episodes already to even flesh out the characters they ALREADY had - so maybe it would be too much to ask.
