>author gets his series
>introduces locket bullshit
>abandons the original premise of being a homage to Romeo and Juliet
>goes from one love interest to love triangle, to harem, back to love triangle
>sells out by filling this shit with every harem romcom cliche in the book to drag this shit out
It couldn't have gone worse, be honest.
>>
>>160011692
I hear the manga is a lot better, might read through it some time. I don't know why the author decided to take the LN down some existential road like that, should have just been Akuto fighting the machine gods and overthrowing society.

It's not that the Author went insane, quite the opposite.
He did the sane thing by dragging his meal ticket out as long as possible. It's not like it was that high minded to begin with, so when he had the choice to either:
a) Continue to make money by coming up with bullshit to fill the pages between the cute girls, or
b) End a successful series and start back up on square one with a new manga

he did the thing that 9 out of 10 people would do: Not leaving the gravy train

Btw, not to say that it wasn't shit.
I dropped it somewhere around chapter 110 or so because i thought it was 130, not 230, chapters total.
After just kinda enjoying it from about chapter 90 onward i was invested enough for 20 or 30 mediocre chapters, but not enough for more than double i had already read.

That sounds retarded, how many mental loops do you have to go through to do that instead of just telling them you actually don't want a harem?

Who did he choose in the end? Luna?
>>
>>160012570
Still sad that he disgraced his own work like that. Guess that's what you do when you make a living off of something.

Boku Wa Tomodachi Ga Sukunai. Holy shit the LN went to shit after a while.
>>
>>160012663
Eh, best girl won in the end.

>>160012783
I don't know what kind of drugs the author was taking in the second half to think that any of that was a good idea.
>>
>>160012958
I remember reading how the author's previous works all also had batshit insane endings, so maybe that's not so surprising.
>>

OMG, I loved Tsuki Tsuki! Too bad it didn't account to anything and devolved to a SoL without plot and the MC then became a beta male

After watching the Anime recently the Manga was on my 'I am totally gonna read that some day. When i get around to it. Maybe.'-List

>>160012894
Ehh, It wasn't great, but i think 'disgraced' is way too strong a word for what he did. It's not like it was a high minded masterpiece that devolved into nothing but pantie shot and cheap fan service.

This series, she went insane when she decided to sideline the main girl and the character the series is named after to focus on her big(ger) breasted rival.

Sure the series is selling better now, but at the cost of what made it great to begin with.

Umineko is pretty much the defining example of the author going full retard.
>>
>>160011462
Mission School went in a crazy direction in its final volume. The author went "Fuck it" and made the final arc be about saving the entire world by trying to sell the unsold volumes of the manga.

Putting a female in the spotlight because she is more popular with the Japanese audience and changing the original dynamic for a couple of quick sales IS NOT A GOOD THING.

Hopefully it is a passing fad and this girl goes back to being fanservice once she realizes a big tittied fanservice background girl can't carry a series on her own.
>>
>>160013857
It was good in the manga, to be fair. Erika solving EP5-6, Confession of the Golden Witch and the part where Battler meets Shannontrice really helped salvage the arc.
>>
>>160013530
>>160013880
>>160014047
Come on, are you people new to the hobby?

This is a common sales tactic for anime, manga, Novels, soap operas, video games, etc. They focus on the characters who are popular, give them the spotlight for a story arc, or several arcs. Then near the end, they focus on the main character.

So this big tittied spectre you guys are so scared of will get her day in the sun before fading back to being a secondary character in the end.

TL:DR, main girl always wins, every time.

Good one, it was comfy and happy until it is unveiled the chick he had a crush on was married. Then it went completely terrible when best mom comes back to get her daughter.
>>
>>160013530
What I hate with this manga is that 99.9% of the chapters are at school or at the home of the MC. Why not add some variety? We would love a beach chapter, how about a vacation chapter in Okinawa, or how about a hiking chapter in nature? Just do something to break the same location used in every single damn chapter.

I understood it by the first time I read EP3, the execution of the story just turned to shit in Chiru to pander to the shipperfags.
>>
>>160013773
>>160016483
>>160016598
There's something about Umineko Chiru that brings about the angriest sort of retards that exist. The conclusion to the story isn't in any means perfect but I'd say it resolves everything in a way that's understandable and didn't feel forced.
>>
>>160016662
Wow, that is quite delusional.

The manga-ka never ever strayed from the "first girl wins" EVER. She isn't going to start now.
>>

>>
>>160016955

>>
>>160016826
>didn't feel forced
Battler x Beato being a thing after EP3 is the very definition of forced. The original EP8 also devolved into Ryukishi insulting his fans for trying to solve the mystery, and ended it all without even explaining things properly. There's a reason the manga had to add so much to EP8.
>>
>>160013773
>top right: not Battler
>bottom right: Battler is lying
Those things aren't what's wrong with Chiru.

So i had several strokes remembering the name of this one but Kyoudai hodo Chikaku Tooimono wa Nai. I'm convinced in the middle of coming up with the story after this moment, the author had a seizure and wrote the rest of the story with major brain damage.
>>
>>160017242
I think he only ends up with 2 girls.
It's been awhile so I'm not 100% sure, but he definitely doesn't end up with his entire harem.
>>
>>160017399
Well, seems like it's a better ending from my point of view.
I guess the journey sucked hard though.
>>
>>160017207
Top right may be Lambda nonsense, but it still set the tone for the shitty writing that came right after.
>ohohoho battler-kun me and dlanor are having GIRLS TALK you and beato must be LOVE BIRDS ohohoho
>and then i knew BECAUSE POWER OF OUT OF NOWHERE LOVE, FUCK PROPER DEDUCTIONS
>EP6 Battler: FUCK OFF SAYO I ONLY WANT YOUR INSANE ALTER EGO WHO LOVED TORTURING MY FAMILY
>>

Ep6 Battler knew Beato actually dindu nuffin. He focused on the promise he made her instead.

That's exactly what he didn't do. He completely ignored the fact that Beato was actually Shannon, and doubled down on obsessing over her meta personality. It actually could have been written well if they played things right by having him love her because he realized her identity instead of the other way around, but EP5-6 wrote things in a really hollow and nonsensical way that felt more like pleasing shippers than a believable story development.

Read this >>160016879, the manga-ka in her 15 years of writing manga has never had the "first girl" lose. There is literally nothing that shows that this will be any different.

Even in her other series, there were characters who were way more popular than the main girl (and first girl) and they got blown out in the end.

History is against you, facts are against you.
>>
>>160017719
Wow
>>
>>160014047
The problem with your statement is that the "big tittied fanservice character" had the most character development out of the whole cast. She went from being defensive around women and men because she got burned by a guy she liked and her former best friend betrayed her, to completely deicing and having female friends and she has a guy she likes to improve herself.

Compared to her, the cast is literally the status quo. They are the same from the first volume to the latest one.

She is also the most compelling character because she tries to balance out her conservative, shy personality, with the reality that she has to be aggressive and sexual (since the guy has a thing for big breasts, especially hers) to win over the guy she likes. You could tell she is very conflicted in how she tries to balance everything.
>>
>>160020964
I would also like to add, if a person doesn't like Rin, they do it based on several reasons.

1. They read the manga from the beginning and the first volume essentially shapes Ui as the sole love interest, so they bought into the false assumption that the series is about cute girlfriend things with boyfriend.

The big problem with that assumption is that Rin was designed from the get go to be the "rival" character and she was also designed to be a major character even in conception stage. In one of the behind the scenes sketches the manga-ka literally writes "second main character" on Rin.

2. They are repulsed by Rin's overbearing conservative personality, and by the time she starts changing they have already made up their mind about her.

3. They don't like that Rin is hypersexualized in the series. There are literal panels of her breasts bouncing and you don't see her face. Even the manga-ka unfortunately eschews her cute face just to have her breasts bounce so prominently.
