I think it's about time we discuss what the fuck this girl is going for at this moment.

Contrary to how it began as in pic related it's getting clear to me that she is no conductor in this orchestra.
There is no grand plan going on on her side now other than waiting for Meteora to play her hand.
Now that she has declared she is omnipotent to Blitz and that she will be the one to murder the entire cast in the battle to come.

Was she telling the truth in the church scene?
Was she genuine about anything she has said so far?
Was her name and intention enough to derail her plans, as in how she sperged out and killed Mamika?

I'm legit curious on how she envisioned this "glorious song".
Especially according to the fact it's revealed she has/had a spying circle over the whole cast.

How do you see it unfold? Altair versus the world? What role do Syo and Charon play, do you think it's wise to give pretty much unlimited powers to Hikayu?

Altair is simply a bad liar. Pretty much everything she says is a lie, but she says it in a way that makes her intention obvious. Which is why every character except Aliceteria immediately knew she plans to erase the world, and the characters that tried to understand her understood that she was a suffering little girl. It's likely that the end will reveal that she isn't making any moves because she is much more powerless than she seems to be, and everyone is confusing her combat strength with the ability to achieve her objectives.

And well, she wants a riot and Meteora is planning one that will end up involving. Her best move might be to wait for it, since the small previous fights aren't enough.

I can understand why they might have one special at the start, like aldnoah. At the start both projects SEEMED like they might be ambitious before they actually aired and ended up underwhelming. But there's no justification for two specials in the second cour which are just seiyuu sitting in a room talking. I'm sure they will do this for the guys(+ Amamiya) next. With how bad the sales are this will be the final death blow.

I don't think they feel confident about it.. I don't think they really want us to feel the way we do about the show. Marketing partly to blame for what's occuring. Episode 13 is a great springboard to get people up to speed but really episode 16 will be the one to determine how it will do at least in terms of interest for the final act

The worst thing about the show is that they proved they can do things right. There are some really great moments and scenes and clever writing in this show but then you get slow moving plot and fucking infodumps. I want the believe that the final arc will be good, but knowing how they handled stuff so far I don't know what to expect.

You're not supposed to start hating it after episode 15 happened. Altair is awesome, the rest of the cast is properly fleshed out except for the ones they are obviously trying to give out as little as they get, including a character that has been teased once three episodes ago. "A glorious song requires the presence of all the players." and everyone is finding their place.

But the special is only dragging out the wait. Maybe next one will not be such a disappointment, since we already know the chances of seiyuus fucking around for 20 minutes are sky high and episode 16 might just leave with it's own momentum that will make waiting for episode 17 more enjoyable than it is right now.

Episode 13 was a special as well, what else would you even call it? That's 4 specials in a 25 episodes timeslot. 3 of them are spread over the first half of the second cour for some retarded reason. Are they necessary in some way? Episode 13 might have been, as an actual intermission between cours and a breather for the staff and at least it was fucking animated. But what the hell are these live action specials? How is any of this related to the show? Is this a Yabai spin-off? If I wanted a recording of Minase Inori radio show I would go and watch it. I don't even think that they are in production hell because they started animating early and there were no indications that they had any problems. Shit, some of the episodes in this have less key frames than low budget 00s shows and even those frames are low quality with potato heads, jagged hair and baloon hands. This must be a bad joke, I don't want to believe that somebody can be so fucking bad at their job and still be allowed to do it.

They fucked up extremely hard and now they have to get out of it while saving face (to the extent that is even possible). This is a textbook example of someone trying to manufacture a hit out of nowhere-- there was no chance of it succeeding. The show is simply over-designed and even though so much of it has been in conversations-- there is not even any memorable dialog. There is not a single line from this entire series that I would want to quote. There is not a moment in this series that is truly gripping and compelling. It lacks authenticity in a way that I have not seen outside of Isekai and the authors assume us to have feelings we do not have for their creations (because they have not earned our feelings).

It is not even a bad concept, in fact, the whole idea is actually decent and could have been interesting. But the pacing, presentation, and lack of connection to the characters is just killing it. Whenever the show regains its momentum (recap episode) it then immediately throws it away. It spends so much time on unnecessary exposition and contrived meaningless skirmishes that it has yet to produce any real substance.

So, I do not feel bad for the production team. This whole series is a failed cash-grab and they deserve to walk away with an empty bag. Let it be a reminder that creating something just for money without a good vision-- it's just not going to work.

I really liked the base concepts and backgrounds of the characters, they seemed to promise fun ways to clash and bounce off one another but they just almost completely ignored that aspect in favor of 2meta4u and boring logistics.
It wouldn't have been hard to endear people to them, just have some SoL non-eating scenes, actually unique fighting styles (that's asking too much, I know) and have them explore the world and ask some fucking existential questions (it doesn't have to be pretentious, they should come naturally considering the premise).

Back around episode 5 or so I heard that at one point the series was meant to use actual popular characters, but the writers chose to create their own to avoid too many power level issues.

If that was ever true, then it feels like they never changed the story's pacing to adjust for the change. The creations might come from their own series, but we know effectively nothing about them and they come across as blank slates no one's writing on. It almost feels like the writers are taking it for granted that the audience is already very familiar with the characters and thus feel like they don't have to write much for them when the opposite is true.

They said the characters were written to be walking cliches at the beginning so you only needed to have an idea what kind of characters they were amalgamated from or have some opinion on their genres ot expect how they would act.

But I take fault with the fact that they are not giving enough content for us. It's cheap marketing. For example the Newtype stats are still not released on the internet. The characters abilities are still not listed, but we're supposed to know what they are capable of since their source materials must be out there in their source world. They could've released a lot more cheap content that would help market the product they have. Instead of releasing the adapted story daily, they could've released short stories weekly to give us an idea about all of the cast and maybe their fighting styles or they could tie the episodes and how the characters acted with their source material. We haven't had both mechas fight for example. Releasing a short story on how either mech fought a specific enemy would help flesh it out and give people who are more invested something to expect for when the time came for the ultimate battle.

pic very much related, I'm really wondering why they are not showing it when it implies that Aliceteria and Altair are comparable in terms of attack and defence, in my mind meaning that the fight they'll have has the higher chance to turn into a complete slugfest. Magane is also given an attack stat comparable to Selesia but she hasn't demonstrated the said potential at all other than killing an unsuspecting old man and playing around the others. Which is stupid, since the show is not even bothering to tell us that her book is already out there and the characters know more about her than we do.

That scene where Yuya said he and Rui were changing from their character settings comes to mind, we actually have no fucking idea about what he meant specifically since nothing tangible was shown onscreen (and Rui had barely just been introduced)
