Interesting premise but I think the story had execution issues.
More of Shinkai's heavy-handed melodrama.
The animation, while technically impressive, was stylistically uninspired.

A 7 because visually it was beautiful but other than the aesthetic factor it skips over plot developments that would give the characters relationship more depth. Still, I'm happy Shinkai has learned how to do happier endings even though I loved 5cmps.

It was enjoyable to watch, but the characters were mostly forgettable to me. It was a cool idea and decent romance, but I just dont understand how some people think it's the best ever. I liked koe no katachi more.
