It's too late for berserk both in terms of the cultural climate and Miuras outlook on storytelling.
He's getting older and isn't anywhere near as edgy as he was 10-15 years ago. Understandable, people tend to write different kinds of stories in their later years. Even if this shit does get finished I think Miura has moved on from all edgy sufferporn that made Berserk what it was.

To be fair, the first movie had a kind of clunky animation but the following 2 were great in mixing 2d and 3d. The eclipse scene was amazing, the rape really got me disgusted this time.
