During the bath scene in Nise, Shinobu had a hidden meaning by questioned Araragi with his ''immortality''. She wanted to see if Araragi was indeed serious about the vow he made to her, after she told him the possible outcome that he will probably outlive his family/friends. She wanted to know if he was serious. So when Araragi told her that despite the risk of outliving his friends/family he would still uphold the vow he made to her, she was convinced. So she accepted it.

Finally watched all 3 movies together and it did not disappoint. For all the shit Shaft gets from people, they actually did something a vast majority of anime directors/studios don't do which is to really use animation to do things you can't do with live action. The first move in particular was absolutely incredible in terms of showing things rather than telling. That whole scene with Araragi and Shinobu in the subway was just great in portraying the desperation from both sides without all the internal monologue.

I'm also glad Shaft toned down some of their stylistic background visuals because most of the time, it just ends up being distracting. This movie was a perfect harmony of their style and the underlying material. I'm hoping Shaft lets Oishi Tatsuya do more stuff from now on instead of shoehorning Shinbo into everything.

Does anyone else slowly get tired of monogatari? I feel like it overstayed it's welcome. When Bake came out it was something new and interesting. It got a lot of people into dialogue heavy shows (People still compare dialogue heavy shows to monogatari). It had the waifu wars, it introduced a lot of people to the now famous shaft-style (and head tilts). And it was fun to watch, since it managed to make a full on dialogue show, fun. But now, 37 hours 56 minutes and 8 second of monogatari later, the fun is starting to wear off. Second season was alright, and Kizu was pretty good. But the rest of the shows just seem to be going on and on and on. There seems to be no ending in sight and the story itself leaps in time alot. I don't know about you people, but im tired off it. I wish that Nisio Isin gave it a proper finale.

Because I really don't see Koyomi or Shinobu dying as conclusion, I feel that would go against the story, with both of them living for each others sake, them dying would be a weird way to change that focus. Perhaps a flash forward a few hundred years into the future where they fully forgive each other and continue on their shenanigans but still leave it open ended is something I could see though, but that means it's open ended which means it's might not be the conclusion you are looking for.

On the contrary, I think it just keeps getting more and more enjoyable the more material they release. The thing about SHAFT and Nisio's styles is that they aren't just gimmicks that'll keep you entertained for a couple of hours due to their uniqueness, they are actually things that work when pulled off properly which they do every time — while the novelty wears off, the quality doesn't, and each new release just keeps adding more depth to the characters and takes the story somewhere interesting.

Hmm I don't really see that happening personally. Koyomi has already firmly rejected Hanekawa, and Shinobu and Hitagi are really the only two other romantic candidates at this point.

I think the relation with Shinobu will pretty much stay as is.

As for Hitagi, currently in the books he wants to marry her, but the fact that he didn't even propose yet in Musubi kind of makes me doubt they will marry, there is a lot of foreshadowing against it.
