I like them, and Nina's dragon fight and prison break were great. Jeanne is just for a few episodes for plot reasons, because it's likely going to be human/angel/demon/dragon vs Cheerios. People shouldn't have a problem with Nina's romance, as it's not like she will get a happy ending with Cheerios. He's going to continue his path and die, and she will fight against him. The ED is Cinderella themed with the clock hitting midnight at the end for a reason. But I do want more Favaro, Kaisar and Rita like you, and as soon as possible.

For one, this show doesn't give a fuck about demons, so Azazel's cause being made personal instead of a last line of defence for the demons further diminishes their plot importance into tertiary category. Terrible fucking pacing and terrible storytelling. Nina barely has any hooks to this plot, neither do Favaro, Kaisar, and the rest. The only one with a decent hook is Jeanne and even then she's mostly just going along with her son. A tonne of plots just lead nowhere, like Azazel's stuff, he was just there to take up screen time with his batman antics with no real long term consequences.

Remove the main cast, leave the war between humans and gods/angels/demons, and you'd lose absolutely nothing plotwise, in fact you'd just have more time to further develop the only real plotline in the show. If you look at how S1 did it, it was so much more focused and straighforward: Favaro is hunted by Kaisar, Favaro finds Amira who needs to go somewhere, Amira curses Favaro so he's forced to take her there, therefore dragging Kaisar along, and it all unfolds from there. Easy, clear, and quick setup that was done in 2 episodes.

It was both. Charioce wanted Jeanne to join him because she would sway Mugaro to her and by extension to Charioce's side so he could remove the only weapon that can oppose his green magic from his enemy and because Jeanne joining him would placate the citizens that still worshiped her and making him the righteous one in their eyes.
In any case, he didnt care about protecting the Gods at all. Both motives are about powering himself up.

Like Nina aptly noticed, Mugaro is cute and a good girl/boy. In other words he's accomodating and good natured. Azazel is always angry and on the edge so Mugaro is a good match for him. He's a calming presence for Azazel, and he can easily withstand his tantrums because Azazel makes him feel safe.

He won't be forgiven by the gods or demons, no matter what. The grief he's caused them is real. The throne will likely have to be given to either Jeanne or Kaisar when all is said and done.
Nina and Kaisar will forgive him, Nina because she sees the good in him, and Kaisar because he sees him as a misguided yet honorable man and understands why he's doing this.

The romance is easily the worst part of this show which is a shame because I fucking adore everything else. I especially like how we have had time to see each faction and the contrasting opinions within them rather than a bunch of factions filled with people who all have the exact same thoughts and opinions.
