Reminder that Keita still manages to
hook up with the blondie after vol 2.
cute gf that's going to be taken by mc
>show is not actually about video games but is just another MISUNDERSTANDINGS: the romcom
I wanted to like it while reading the LN's first volume but it just did a 180 and competitive gaming was never further brought up.
I hope there's more bully.
Can smell the NTR coming.
But really though, Aguri and Keita's interactions in the most recent translated chapter were pretty good. I like him best when he's not being a shy, dense sperglord so the times where he gets into a shitfling with Chiaki or complaining about riajuus with Aguri were hilarious.
Shaping up to be better than Neto "everyone is a gurl" ge.
For the sake of your sanity and in order to try getting any enjoyment out of this show, please remember that anime is fiction.
I just want something similar to a sports anime that features video games as the main subject instead. I had initially thought this was going to be about a "casual" learning how to enjoy the competitive aspects of video games from tournaments and stuff but I couldn't be more wrong.
Netoge had cute girls and was actually about (online) gaming. This seems to be just normalfags and casuals playing games.
Both of the ones who were actually playing shit also get into MISUNDERSTANDINGS, right?
Shino what did you do
What did they mean by this?
>Good at GBF, doesn't play it casually
>Strong pool that easily exceeds damage cap even with a shitty team
>Still nice and friendly and always up for playing with her shitter casual friend
It was over before it started.
I too like this girl. Shows like this need to be more discreet about which girl is going to win.
The most recent show I can think of as example is Mashiroiro Symphony. Old ass romances were really good with this too.
>get invited into some autistic e-sports shit club
>don't like shootans, fightans or ASSFAGGOTS
>clearly refuse club offer and go back to playing vidya you like
>give no shits when she starts crying, you're busy grinding an encounter with your steamfriend who is actually a very cute girl but you don't know that
Let me sum it up for you.
>Aguri and Tasuku both like each other.
>Chiaki likes Tasuku
>Karen likes Keita
>Keita is unclear of his feelings on Karen.
>Chiaki and Keita are basically perfect for each other but they hate each other.
>Tasuku ships Chiaki and Keita hard and tries to get them together
>Chiaki falls for Tasuku because he hangs around her and Keita a lot
>Aguri thinks Tasuku is cheating on her with Chiaki
>Aguri starts confiding in Keita and Tasuku is wary about them hanging out together
>Meanwhile Karen is left on the side still pining for Keita.
When are manga/LNs that are actually about video games getting anime adaptations?
>Pink and Brown both like each other
>Purple likes Brown
>Blonde likes Black
>Black is unclear of his feelings on Blonde
>Purple and Black are basically perfect for each other but they hate each other.
>Brown ships Purple and Black hard and tries to get them together
>Purple falls for Brown because he hangs around her and Black a lot
>Pink thinks Brown is cheating on her with Purple
>Pink starts confiding in Black and Brown is wary about them hanging out together
>Meanwhile Blonde is left on the side still pining for Black.
>claiming fighting games have 60 frames per second
uhm, no, sweetie, the human eye can't see more than a buttery smooth 24 frames per second so obviously that couldn't be correct.
>open it in another window and hit win + left arrow on one window and win + right arrow on the other window
You're a pretty smart fella. I'm going to overlook you calling me a little shit.
She cuts her hair later on to try to impress Tasuku.
They hate each other over literally ONE thing. Keita and Chiaki are perfect for each other in literally every way possible except over the one thing. Keita likes moe in games. Chiaki hates moe.
Tendou and MC are a couple.
Chiaki confesses to MC at the end of V6. V7 is about them deciding to continue as friends. They want to tell Tendou properly. Tendou overhears them, but mistakingly thinks they are planning to tell her that they are a couple... misunderstandings yeh.
Aguri and MC relationship is pretty good. Tasuku thinks a lot of his and Aguri's relationship. Aguri seems to laugh more with MC he thinks. He and Tendou discusses their relationship with each other.
Tendou clears things up with Chiaki. Tendou thinks that Chiaki and MC have more in common and that her and MC's conversations doesn't go anywhere.
Tasuku goes on a date with Aguri, Tendou with MC. Chiaki starts crying when she sees Tendou and MC kissing. Tasuku suggests breaking up with Aguri. Tendou suggests breaking up with MC.
Aguri & MC: "Eh-?".
>not rejecting the cutest girl in school while grinding Baha HL or Events
MC will actually win himself a GBF gf
>Tendou and MC are a couple.
>Chiaki confesses to MC at the end of V6. V7 is about them deciding to continue as friends.
MC rejects Chiaki
Or he is in love with her but can not because he is in couple ??
This is actually surprisingly inoffensive.
Also, ear blush. Very cute.
who the fuck would want to play that lag fest when you have a room full of people you can VS with. fucking no-friend weabs and their disgusting obsession with online mp and 'esports'/twitch streaming. go get some fucking friends mate
I hate to admit it but I liked the first episode. The MC giving more attention to GBF raid more than the school idol was golden. Though he has a point, not everybody cares about competitive gaming.
I actually hate the fact that the anime changed the game to not-gbf which attracted a ton of /gbfg/ autists shitting up the threads.
In the actual novel:
>Right now, I was playing one of the many games on the market that was a clone of Puzzle & Dragons.
Because of the spoilers that this will be a dramafest. When watching the episode at first I wanted to hate it. It didn't help that the episode kept hinting at the drama that will happen later. But as it kept going the episode was getting more fun and the final scene was just great.
There's honestly very little. Whoever animated that very obviously plays it, since the UI is nearly identical to the real thing. The main differences are just a few graphical choices. Some of the characters are pretty recognizable, others aren't.
Probably the biggest difference is the fact that there's no way to message someone to request they join your raid in game. Usually people do that outside of the game. At best you can see a list of people in your friends list/guild who have requested help, but that's it.
Yeah I tried reading the novel after the first episode. While it was fun, I didn't like the constant misunderstanding and drama setups.
That said, it would be glorious if they animate the Misumi side story.
He's actually very bro. The next episode should show how he's a very nice guy to the MC.
And if these spoilers here >>159773352 are to be believed. He actually self NTRs himself for his bro.
you must be deluded if you think japan is in any way good at this whole "show dont tell" thing. these are the same band of troglodytes who feel the need to offer a 5 minute explanation to every little muscle movement that occupies a shounen battle sequence.
Nah, after giving the show a chance I think I'm going to watch it. The fighting game senpai is pretty cute.
Will the later volumes keep the comedy though? Or will it became a depressing wreck like Oregairu?
I'm not so sure why you're all butthurt, but the dorky "will soon lose it all" text has nothing in common with blatantly expository dialogue or other typically "telling" narrative devices. Not to say that Japan is in all ways superior than all other nations in the whole show-don't-tell thing, just that your vicious takedown misses the mark by a mile.
As a person who prefers single player/couch co-op games, great first episode.
I loved watching the MC blow the fuck out of the ultra-competitive try hards at the end.
I read the manga chapter months ago when it came and really enjoyed it. Now watching it animated brought a similar enjoyment. Will definitely watch until the end no matter what happens and how many misunderstandings come my way.
If anything the MCs voice is actually very different from what I would've expected but I guess it fit's the overall tone of the anime.
Fuck man, why does this always happen? Can't any of these harem shows at least have one side couple instead of every girl falling for MC?
>If anything the MCs voice is actually very different from what I would've expected but I guess it fit's the overall tone of the anime.
He's voiced by a woman for whatever reason, even though I think the current anime industry had plenty of fuccboi-sounding VAs. Hell I think the amnesia guy was voiced by one of those fags.
Best girl no contest
>Go into this thinking it'll be about games
>They talk about games a lot and it's fun
>But it gives a weird feeling of upcoming drama/angst
>Read spoilers in this thread
>Literally some love dodecahedron shit with characters too stupid to solve their problems, which could be done effortlessly in 10 seconds
So /a/, what games are you currently playing?
>school idol is secretly a hardcore gamer who likes the loser MC for no reason
Man, even for anime, this is quite some wish fulfillment. It's almost as bad as SAO.
It's like something a 16 year-old self-proclaimed ``gamer" would write.
At least the girls are cute. I'd honestly rather watch a romcom than any of this cringe-inducing competitive gaming fantasies.
>Can't any of these harem shows at least have one side couple instead of every girl falling for MC?
You think the nips can handle that. They're a bunch of insecure faggots. Every girl has to suck MC's dick somehow.
Granblue Fantasy, for the rest of my life, whether I want to or not.
im just glad the main character only plays games for enjoyment i am so tired of every mc being a complete autist that is the best at every game
Arino deserves his own anime, one of the guys on his team actually draws manga
being a casual is the best, you will never know the feeling of playig a game for the first time and beating someone that spends entire days practicing
even if you don't win you still win because you didn't waste all your time on it
Ao no Kiseki with a spreadsheet translation.
When Karen showed up after he turned down the club invitation, I thought she was gonna blackmail him into joining by exposing he likes galge or something.
Turns out she's just mildly autistic?
dokkan battle i also need to complete pokemon emerald and not long ago i played a boy and his blob it's the comfiest puzzle/platformer game
>>Keita is unclear of his feelings on Karen.
>>MC is in love with Chiaki
In fact the MC has feelings for Chiaki Even though Karen is important to him
Even if the two have made the choice to remain friends in Flight 7
Karen even if she is in a little misunderstanding and she think that Keita will break with her
She felt that the heart of Keita is elsewhere
This is why she puts an end to their relationship
MC will be a bit sad but he will finally be free to be with the person he loves for real
Aguri and Tasuku them are really in a big misunderstanding
She is in love with him only and he is in love with her only
>dude just spontaneously combusts
Didn't know this was a short.
Chivalry, Sora no Kiseki SC and tonight I think I'll start reading Tsukihime.
I'm a minute and a half into this episode and this motherfucker has Rune Factory and Ace Combat in his stack
I don't even know what this show is really about but damn this dude's got some taste
honestly i think it is better this way have you seen how fucking boring every game player main character is? do you want an entire cast full of kiritos
even the guy from log horizon would be boring as hell if it wasn't for his friends
Is the Mono-san a Hikki? Cause she's the cutest by far.
The Third. RIES A CUTE
so this as a show about "gamers" and they put the mc as a cassual is this clever or what?
>having time for video games
Replaying Shadow of Chernobyl.
Which idiot thought it was a good idea to let /gbfg/ stay around for 2 seasons?
I didn't expect to see an UNIBEL reference.
MELTY BLOOD HD FUCKING WHEN
Did you get the fixes so it doesn't play like molasses in winter? Did you turn off V-Sync so the hacking speed isn't messed up?
Going on a Metroid marathon in hopes that Samus Returns is actually good. Currently on Zero Mission
which is obviously the best Metroid that isn't Super Metroid.
After that I'll probably take a break and do some modded RA2 to pass the time.
Don't worry anon, "she"'s definitely a tranny.
This is Mono-san after character development
>I want to make a club with serious gamers
>invite a kid who plays social games and VNs
I agree, I really liked how they handled his refusal to join the club.
I was afraid they were gonna drag it out and ruin the joke, but nope they played it out almost exactly like in the manga
This is what really gets me. I'm guessing most of the students in their school have absolutely no interest in video games at all so she was desperate to just get anyone who likes any sort of game.
You are right, the MC+Karen ship is really weak compared to MC+Chiaki. Especially later on it becomes apparent Chiaki is literally the soulmate for the MC except for one minor detail, moege, but he's your typical beta-kun who can't decisively pick between apples and oranges so we get volumes of misunderstandings.
Yeah but most of the other students might have already settled on other clubs and whatnot. In my experience, most normalfags treat games as an extremely minor side thing to do when one has a lot of spare time. If given the choice between something like say, the basketball or literature club versus the gaming club, most people would probably choose the former.
Or who knows, maybe Karen did try to recruit riajuu but most of them were put off by how tryhard the senpais are, or the other way around where Karen doesn't want to recruit anyone who doesn't "love" games.
I got really excited when he grabbed the toy with a special technique. Crane Game-kun is a cool guy.
She thought he had good taste after seeing that pile of games he picked up, there was no way she'd know what he really is like back then.
By the way flat monk-chan a fucking cute
Karen seems like a psycho, I'll stick with the hot slutty gamer.
>get baited into reading the first LN volume after checking out the manga's first chapter
>it literally just devolves into relationship misunderstandings bullshit while actual gaming is left in the dust
I was visibly angry after I finished reading.
Her main game is smash she can't play real fighting games desu
>BTFO main girl like it's nothing and nonchalantly goes back to playing his shitty mobage like it is nothing
Holy fuck i may dislike his choice in activities and games he plays, but this guy is pretty rad.
I hope he also NTRs the pink girl from Chad guy.
I find it actually fascinating how she can't deal with the fact that someone actually rejected her, so she spills spaghetti from her pockets all over the floor.
Even more, literal fucking loser does it and basically you are fucking stupid.jpg
According to the LN, I believe she was attempting to imitate a generic tsundere from the blonde girl galgame in the start of the episode and started insulting him. He's dense, so he didn't pick it up. Also, the banana slip was anime original, same for her running off crying. It seems they needed to make it fit, so they cut a lot of dialogue out of that scene. A lot of crucial dialogue that would have clarified a lot of things.
>tfw no gaming soulmate
I want to play BaseCombat7 already!
Sure, i found it earlier in the year, just never bothered because i knew anime is in the works, so i will probably find it again.
Hopefully pace will pick up with the anime, cause i bet they are gonna breeze through one and half volume in like 5 episodes, or less.
Remembering /a/ going wild because of that scene still makes me giggle.
And volume one has 3 chapters, at least according to the TL, so at this pace they would catch up around 4th or 5th episode.
But yeah, you never know when they will decide to cut something.
Shit was so cash.
>there are people who don't support their local weeklies
Good taste in my anime?
I don't know how different the manga is, but I think it sucked.
Watching it felt like being more pandered to than with Oreimo. I could feel my IQ decreasing as the show basically shoved to things I like (girls and games) in my face, while not putting enough care into to any of them. I can't say much about the other girls yet, but I hated the blonde, she felt like Wet Lonely Teenager Dream: The Character. She feels like that popular girl you had a crush on, but now she's also a gamer gurl so you can fantasize about having a chance. And the MC fuck him. The rest were cool, especially CSGO dude and GG girl, they felt like genuine gamers. In an anime about for gamers, it's important that the characters actually seem like they would be into games.
Sucked. Whenever the show was "funny", it blasted some stupid Benny Hill in your face funny music.
I didn't laugh once, but interesingly I found myself smiling at some of the direction choices. I most clearly remember when MC got cucked, and got punched in the face, that was a neat cut.
-Guilty Gear Girl
-SOME insight into competitive games
-People speaking to themselves, constant thinking out loud
-Constant "handholding" ie. "Ha looks at that guy, he's such a loser, he plays games all the time!". Bro, I can tell
-"Why did decide to become a gamer?" Who the fuck "decides" that they're a gamer?
Does it get better? Is it worth watching for fighting game memes (if there are any)?
Yeah, sure. We all know Capcom invented Tumblr in the 90's.
It be like getting a hole-in-one on a par 3.
>over after the first stroke
>see these >>159778320 >>159778474
What in the actual fuck? Explain this, dotards
>doesn't main Faust
Maybe she's good for a quick pump n dump and titty fondle, but she's no where close to best girl.
As someone who loves to see pretty girls who have everything get brutally denied this first episode was very satisfying
I feel like this is one of those Hikki/NEET feelings
Can anyone confirm?
There will be a one off joke chapter about some guy becoming world champion in competitive gaming ala a sports anime only to be defeated by the MC thanks to the game he plays against him being rigged.
Well anon, if we look at speedrun gatherings like AGDQ, we can honestly say when boys and girls join clubs to take gaming seriously like speedrunning, it ends up in degeneracy, awkwardness, and even drama.
BTW, there is a limited edition xbox one controller. Maybe it's a tournament reward cuz i see no microsoft or nintendo games in that room, only some retro stuff and full shelves of PS3 and PS4 games.
>anime with super serious esbord tryhards
>playing FPSs with a controller
>playing CS with a controller
I wanted an anime about games, not a shitty romcom with games as a backdrop
If I were a girl, I'd want to have a boyfriend at guys' meetings too. Just think being a single and slightly attractive girl with a lot of loser guys around you. I'd be eaten alive by vultures.
>not just a reference but a full blown ad
LOCALISATION WHEN? I WANT TO PLAY BASED JEWPUNCHER
