Think of it this way, he was a kid then so it was impressive, but imagine an adult thinking a few moves ahead in chess and strategizing like him. Not that impressive, right? Some of the higher ranked characters on the pic we actually get to see as kids and there's no way what they did would be considered intriguing or weakly impressive if done by an adult.
