Why is Leorio so shit?
Because he hasn't confessed his love to Kurapika yet
This is Qwarf Worcestershire, say something nice about him
Pitou was a better doctor than Leorio will ever be
Because even Knuckle beated him in the last nip popularity poll.
How does it feel, Leoriofags?
Hisoka's literally a better doctor than both.
You know nothing of the limitless Dragon Quest grinding in the Japanese man
>Gon all the way at 9
I guess that's what you get when you act like a shit.
Why is Feitan so popular? He's just a minor character that has barely even done anything. I know this edgelord character type appeals to some people, but fourth most popular and higher ranking than half of the main cast is ridiculous.
>Hisoka get decimated and STILL out ranks Chrollo
I want Hisoka to fill me up with his Bungee Gum
Well that makes sense. Everyone loves Killua. Those who pretend not to are just Pikafags who are bitter that their favorite character doesn't get as much attention. But secretly they love KIllua too.
Well, we know the reverse isn't true.
i'm a Hisoka and Chrollo fag and I think both kurapika and killua are fucking garbage.
The poll is specifically based around the anime and seems to be sometime during the Chimera Ant arc so it isn't as surprising
I'm guessing Feitan's fight went over really well there
>Those who pretend not to are just Pikafags who are bitter that their favorite character doesn't get as much attention. But secretly they love KIllua too.
This sounds like your stupid boogeyman. I like killua but I don't know why you're calling out kurapika/his fans. Also he's been getting plenty of attention this arc.
How do you defend Chrollo being the least interesting character in the entire series? Honestly, HxH is full of interesting heroes, antagonists and minor characters, all with complex motivations and broad emotional ranges. And then you have this edgy dipshit who's just an monotone dick and evil for seemingly no reason. The most we know about him is that his troupe is fiercely loyal, but we're given no reason as to why.
Because he got decimated in the best possible way you can----going out in a blaze of glory like the Spartans of 300.
If chrollo had slapped him around with his own two hands and made him look pathetic, things would be different
But against insurmountable odds, Hisoka smiled and started using humans heads as a weapon, right before using about 5 people as a giant human hammer against a crowd of puppet zombies
All in all I think his effort would make Neo hang his head in shame by comparison.
If Hisoka had stayed dead, no one but pure haters could say he went out like a bitch.
Instead he went out like the psychotic fight loving pedo clown that he is, smiling, killing, and diamond erect
The Pitou violation arc is the best arc
Pixiv results version:
1) Killua 12698
2) Kurapika 10861
3) Hisoka 7660
4) Gon 6323
5) Illumi 5223
6) Kuroro 5008
7) Feitan 4368
8) Neferpitou 3113
9) Leorio 2213
10) Shalnark, Machi and Shizuku (all ~1200)
Killua and Kurapika are the two most popular characters in the series. Before the DC arc Kurapika fags were salty that he didn't get enough screen time. Now Killua fags are salty that Killua is gone. It's only natural that they would clash. Maybe someday we will get an arc with both Killua and Kurapika, and then everyone will be happy.
OFFICIAL POWER LEVELS OF THE PROTAGONISTS
I'm a Feitanfag myself and to be honest, I have no idea. I can see why 4chan would like an angry manlet with a torture fetish but God only knows why this one dimensional side character is so widely popular.
>Leave Pitoufags to me
What did Zushi mean by this?
>The poll is specifically based around the anime and seems to be sometime during the Chimera Ant arc so it isn't as surprising
No it isn't. The last time I checked it (several months ago), Hisoka was 2nd, and now it's Kurapika
At least Hisoka's entertaining and menacing, and we more-or-less understand what's going on in his head. Chrollo's character presents itself as being mysterious, but that's just a cover for being underwritten.
Would his chain conduct electricity? Even without it Crapika has no chance against my daddy
Yeah, he does. Usually when someone who talks like Feitan shows up in Japanese fiction it's cultural shorthand for foreigner. More specifically, almost always Chinese.
He's not (you seriously can't think of one person less interesting?)
He's not even really evil and that's part of what makes him interesting
His group is the white kids version of having grown up as child soldiers in some fucked up African warlord country and yet they survived by banding together and telling the world to fuck itself
Thus their only loyalty is to their fellow members and their city, which seems immoral to the outside world but makes sense from their perspective
Just like the ants morality made sense from their perspective ("do you listen to pigs when they beg for mercy?")
Also the fact that chrollo is not even selfish and is willing to die for his group adds to it (typical boring villain would not be that way)
He's not the most interesting character but he's not the least
Him killing the clown like he said he would made me respect the fuck out of him because. I never once thought Chrollo could pull it off .
Kurapika would stand no chance against Killua with just his chains, but with emperor time he has him beat in physical strength and can heal himself during battle. However, Killua's ablities are perfect for attacking enemies stronger than him by stunning them with electricity and getting hits in faster than they can react, like he did with Youpi. It would be an interesting fight. I'd probably put my money on Killua.
>How would he deal with Killua's speed?
I get the feeling his dowsing chain would actually be helpful there, seeing as how it has predictive qualities, and Killua's speed is actually sets of preprogrammed movements.
Parriston that high? Talk about underwritten. We know almost nothing about him other than that he likes to manipulate events and destroy things he loves
In comparison we have an entire backstory on chrollo
He can't be in empororu taymu against Killua though?
>edgy dipshit who's just an monotone dick and evil for seemingly no reason
Argument immediately shit. You don't give Hisoka flack whose raison d'être is to be a battle junkie but suddenly Chrollo the "edgy one"? And since when did these characters lacking a reason for being evil become a problem? Togashi sure as hell isn't interested in giving a sappy backstory to "explain" why a group of men and women growing in a dumpster city happen to be very strange people. If you want that shit, I got a series with a kid in an orange jumpsuit with your name on it. Funny how no one seemed to care until after their pet clown got floored.
All to push a meme, pathetic.
>the only chains he can't use on non spiders are the ones he uses for fighting
He's useless in a real fight
He can still use dowsing chaing, holy chain and steal chain. The only use judgement chain has is setting a condition for the victim, and before that he needs to use chain jail wich restrains the victim and puts them into zetsu. He kept up for minutes with Uvogin before even considering using chain jail.
Actually he's currently 14~15. Still way too young to be a daddy. He makes a great Oni-chan, though.
I wouldn't even be mad about Chrollo if I didn't KNOW Togashi has the ability to write better villains. Almost 400 chapters and still no one on par with Sensui. Why?
I have a feeling Togashi will have Kurapika killing Tse in less than 10 chapters.
I would read a manga about these guys. Or at least if Togashi used these character designs for a villain group.
Nigger dowsing chain was destroying boulders of rock in his fight with Uvo and all he needs to steal someone's hatsu is knowing what nen category it uses. Not to mention Emperor Time wich makes him a walking brick,
Seriously, he has such great character designs.
It's insane to me that Togashi considers himself a bad artist
sensui was awesome
i really like the part after he kills yusuke and everyone is like crazy mad at him and he just sadly complains that the movie ended and he wasnt able to see the ending.
I didn't like Sensui.
>muh all humans are evil cause I see they've done a lot of evil
What a whiner, he should've considered the fact humans do good things as well, instead of going crazy.
So no then, thought so.
Answer me this, because I'm sure you're just memeing now. If Miura decided way back when to publish his unfinished sketches instead of the art that we are used to, does that make him a terrible artist?
>can't use judgement chain on non-spiders
He can use it on anyone he wants, but for judgement chain he needs to be in emperor time because of the vow he made for that. Judgement chain would be useful as fuck on anyone for a variety of uses since he can set any condition.
i bet you also think Picasso was a master
Sensui was like Gon during the Chimera Ant arc. He was totally convinced that demons were total evil and that humans were good. Walking into the torture orgy was just too much for him.
That's not answering my question.
If he had published those sketches frequently, would you say that he's lost his touch? That he's a bad artist.
That's real cute, anon
he was killing demons because they told him that demons are bad and humans are good.
at some point he realized shit was not that simple, that humans can be as bad as a bad demon just like demons could be as good as a good human and that fucked him up and all
Eh, you guys are right, I did skip over that point. I just don't like the fact he became an enemy of humanity over this. I think that's pretty dumb. It's just makes him seem too childish, he wasn't very compelling.
>If he had published those sketches frequently, would you say that he's lost his touch? That he's a bad artist.
You're missing the key thing here. That whole "if" situation. Togashit DID that. Miura didn't. If Miura also did that, then yeah, I would also think him inadequate.
i dont know man, people can react weirdly to different shit, especially if you are the strongest human around and have been killing stuff that no one else can see ever since you are a kid
Popularity poll rankings often hinge on two separate things.
1. Which fan demographics a character is popular with
2. How much screen/page time the character has
Feitan is in a good place because he's popular with edgefags, which is one of the biggest fan demographics as far as people who actually vote in popularity polls go. In addition he has enough screen time to get a following.
Notice Killua is almost always number 1?
That's because he has even more screen time and he panders to both the edge and fujo demographics, which are both large and fanatical.
You'd find him inadequate, even after you spent years reading Berserk and would consider Miura to be an above average artist , seeing a couple sketches completely erodes that previous conception, huh.
I would say it made his death less meaningful overall. A important character death can add a layer or two onto the overall plot. Kite coming back didn't really add anything like his death did.
As soon as he considers his terrible sketches good enough to publish, he loses all credibility he had. And again, that's the thing, Miura doesn't do that. Togashi does.
It's not that one piece of questionable quality drawing nullifies you as an artist, it's that the instant you are fine with publishing that and showing it to the world as a "final product", I consider you as someone who puts a lot of other stuff before the end product's quality.
He has the best and purest motive of all 4 characters.
Nigga had a broken wrist, did this shit by himself and redrew them for the tanks. He could have gone into hiatus and published them later.
That still doesn't say anything about his talent as an artist by the way you meme loving fuck.
Why am I suddenly a Pitoufag? I just don't like the idea that Gon, Killua and Kite fighting together just so Gon can break Killua's heart again.
>Nigga had a broken wrist, did this shit by himself and redrew them for the tanks. He could have gone into hiatus and published them later.
Then he should've done so, instead of publishing terrible quality art.
I get that you can look at this in different ways, but for me the end product is ALWAYS worth the wait if it means the quality will be better.
You're right, asspull is a term reserved for series where causes have effects and actions have consequences. Not one where the most contrived conveniences are the norm.
Incidentally there were no asspulls in YYH either
>Incidentally there were no asspulls in YYH either
Keep sucking Togashi's dick
Kite's head could have just as easily been Killua's. The arc simply provided an answer to what Zepile was implying when he appraised Gon. How at a flip of a coin, he could easily do bad if it suits him. Made especially obvious when Gon did the exact same evildoings that he condemned Nobunaga and Chrollo for doing by taking a hostage and threatened her safety until he gets what he wants. Kite's death was merely the catalyst.
Even if he was revived later on, the reader now knows what Gon is capable of if you push the right buttons. That hasn't changed.
Gon never has to deal with any consequences so he will forever do the same autistic mistakes. What a fun series!
Reminder that the art on that page is above average for Hunter x Hunter. Maybe Togashi should take some lessons from Oda?
>He condemned Nobunaga and Chrollo for killing people indiscriminately but still caring about their friends.
Which is basically what I'm driving at when I said "the same evildoings". Basically used her as a bargaining chip to get his friend back and would have killed her if he wasn't reasoned with. That's cold indifference to an innocent bystander. No different than when Nobunaga said he'd kill dozens to find Uvo's killer.
>doesn't answer my question
>Killua does in fact leave him
>complaining about shit you made up
I will ask again, when has Gon not had to deal with consequences and repeated his mistakes?
added to the list of togashit hackery
The mistake is throwing his life away. He did it when Kite first got attacked and while fighting Pitou. Then Killua saved his ass twice. By leaving him I meant not being friends with him anymore you dumbass. See you when he gets his nen back though.
>The mistake is throwing his life away
Not the series of actions that led to it?
>By leaving him I meant not being friends with him anymore you dumbass
So by "leaving" you didn't mean what the word means? Also Killua saying "i'm not your friend anymore" wouldn't make any sense
>See you when he gets his nen back though
You are still literally complaining about shit you made up
he was outright told that he shouldn't act like a careless retard and then did it again anyway
>when the idea's so nice that you use it twice
You can find a lot more stuff that Togashi did twice that didn't make the list
Hunter Exam / Genkai Exam is a free
Not inherently, it all depends on the execution
Also why is that part from the hunter exam an "arc"? I'm not even sure it featured one fight, unless you consider Hanzo beating the shit out of Gon after knocking him out a fight
Leorio is the true MVP of the series, DC is where he will shine, he has already showed his superior combat abilities by decimating arguably the strongest fighter in the series with a single punch.
His nen knows no limit, just like his potential for utter destruction.
Because hunter fans are bitter and want to pass the time. We only have a limited time before the hiatus restriction destroys Togashis fucking back again in like a couple weeks. Not to mention a new dragon quest came out, speeding up the hiatus appearing even further....
The worst thing about alluka is that killua can bypass all of her restrictions with no consequences
>nobody talks about the succession war
Togashi you hack. Good night..
looking at it now, Benjamin has every reason to look down on the other princes.
Tse got lucky that two of the guards he hired can use nen, and they're still trying to cuck him out of learning it because of how evil he is.
>more revealed about kurapika's abilities
>the succession war continues on
>woble and oito growing closer to kurapika
also, leorio soon. kurapika keeps bringing up his lack of manpower, he's bound to recruit leorio.
How does 2011 handle Greed Island? I'm watching the OVA that follows up on 99 and really enjoying it (ah good old early 2000s art, can't believe I would ever feel nostalgic for that era). I check out 2011 when it airs on Toonami for maximum comfy despite being the dub, and I can't help but think they're going to rush the fuck out of it.
this is latest chapter is basically more of same shit that we've seen reading for the past weeks and it's crawling along at that. Ask yourself, did we really need kurapika to elaborate on his power a second when the subject came up 3 chapters ago? What about a altercation that ends before you could even enjoy it? Togashi is info dumping for sake info because he more inlove with the idea of a succession war than actually drawing the succession war
I hope to read a logic or debatable HxH post or theory but you shitpostingfags dont have cure.
>Benjamin has every reason to look down on the other princes.
I would argue some of the younger princes don't deserve this shit. Though it seems like 2 through 10 do, with a possible exception for Halkenburg, if he's actually entirely genuine.
This chapter's cliffhanger wasn't exactly a barnburner, most of the chapter was just setting up some of the prince's plans. Camilla seemingly being revealed as a pompous idiot when she was such a mystery was noteworthy though.
>Why is Feitan so popular?
To be honest, I don't expect some fuccboi to understand
But Kurapika is both the edgiest main character and the girliest, and fujos fucking love girly bishounen. Something isn't adding up.
Keep telling yoursel fthat.
One of top 5 nen users already put respeck on his name.
How little you know. You'll regret your words and deeds when Kachou saves Fuugetsu's worthless skin, then you might realize she was lying about not being best girl.
Did you read the manga before you watched 1999? Because if you think 2011 is rushing I'm not sure you're able to tell the difference between the filler episodes and the story episodes.
Leorio's on the lower decks with Cheedle staffing the medical clinics. He can't get up there until the bulkhead is broken, which won't be happening for a while. If Kurapika is going to enlist manpower he'll do it from one of the hunters he hired to help him.
Biskey combat hatsu when?
>Story stops being good before CA arc
I read the entire manga first, then watched 2011 on TV near the end of York New, and now I am going through 99. Just got to Greed Island. I'm expecting rush since some episodes in 2011 were very quickly paced compared to 99, and not just fillers. I actually skipped some of them during the Hunter Exam arc in 99. But I'll give you an example of what I mean. When Kurapika kidnaps Chrollo and gives the Troupe that note, Paku's thoughts in 99 are heavily elaborated on and there's all this kino type of shit going on in the background. 2011 went pretty quickly in that episode. I think it was 2 or 3 episodes in 99 compared to a single episode of 2011 for that same content up until Paku goes to the airship. That was all main story, no filler. 99 feels to me more like a natural pace for an anime, and that 2011 is rushing, not 99 being mostly filler.
Is it possible? Are the mangastream translations better than Viz?
Niggerstream takes a lot of liberties with their translation, pic related, so they're not always good and their cleanup job can also be fucking horrible depending on how horrible the raws are. But given how fast their releases are vs quality, they're acceptable.
I don't want to turn this into Bleach shitposting, but I always really liked Kubo for the way he draws eyes. There's a lot of emotion in them. But late Kubo got samefacey unfortunately.
Viz isn't known for its accuracy. It's known for it's readability. They sacrifice the nuances of the Japanese language all the time to make a cleaner translation, and they localize shit way more than mangastream. They also tone-down the gay in Gon and Killua's conversations, which is not appreciated.
but the abilities used in the first arc are nothing like the rest of the series, you have shit like hisoka cards that would make sense if he was an enhancer but he obviously isn't, or hisoka teleporting in a battle thats also never explained. the only thing that really had a continuation was illumi's manipulation of killua (that turned out to be the needle in his brain), but other than that the abilities from that arc aren't consistent with the other arcs. was just wondering if there's an interview somewhere of him discussing this, im pretty sure he made nen up along the way
You don't need to be an enhancer to enhance card. Enhancer just do it far better than other types. Hisoka's a transmuter and can reach 80% the output of an enhancer because his type is right next to the enhancement category and he's most likely maxed out his enhancement skills so he's slightly weaker than an actual enhancer. The only thing he did that made know sense was when he kicked that huge stone tile into the audience. As a transmuter that's insane.
>or hisoka teleporting in a battle
>you have shit like hisoka cards that would make sense if he was an enhancer but he obviously isn't
Hisoka is a Transmuter, so enhancement nen through Shu is more than possible for him since Enhancement is an adjacent category. I think that Togashi formulated nen from the start, but just tweaked it a little as he went. There's no way he didn't have it in mind, especially since he wrote Territories in YuYu Hakusho years before.
Sure, whatever you say. I don't speak moon, but when both scanlations and crunchyroll translate something the same way, and then Viz is the one throwing the no-homo in there, I tend to trust the non-viz translations.
This is how scanlators translated Gon's line in this scene. Previous pic was Viz. I believe the line in the anime was translated similarly, and moonspeaking anons have told me that this is more accurate.
These are the first things I've been using photoshop for in like 2 years. I can't remember which ones have already been made though.
The best translation for HxH was an anon who posted the raws and translated it when the manga came back last year. 4chan probably has the best translators in general, Viz is just more streamlined. Manga stream is shit though, not gonna argue that.
Kurapika's conversation with his master. The line about "allies" was translated as such by Mangastream:
Kurapika: "I'm fine with allies." Izunabi: "You mean you're fine with collecting pawns you can just sacrifice when convenient."
But based on the script, both those speech bubbles should be Kurapika's.
Kurapika: "By gathering allies, do you mean collecting pawns I can dispose of when convenient?"
There is a defiance in Kurapika's tone when dismissing his master's suggestion to gather allies, because it was against his principles (and Kurapika, we know, adheres to his principles). The mistranslation (if I go by the Japanese script) makes it sound like Kurapika has gone to the dark side.
Another mistranslation in the same chapter. The dolphin wasn't saying "Emperor Time has been active for..." but rather "While Emperor Time is active..."
This. I get that Togashi is trying his best to make it look like a very strategic and smart war by making all the characters drone on and on about their plans, but the entire thing falls apart when you realize the entire concept of having a succession war on an expedition is fucking stupid in the first place, even when you factor in nen. Togashi is forcing the entire scenario, the entire thing feels weak and unexciting.
>council at the helm of the most powerful organization in hxh universe
>consisted by a bunch of furries
>furries portrayed as lawyers/doctors
what did he mean by this
What I'm saying is that the phrase "I like hanging out with you" doesn't convey the same emotional connotation as either of the fan-translated lines. "Hanging out" is a much more casual and impersonal phrase than "being with you". One implies that he just likes playing and goofing off, the other implies that he specifically enjoys Killua's company. Killua's reaction in the following panel doesn't really make sense in the Viz translation, since it's a casual thing for Gon to say, but the scanlation and coalgirls translation makes Gon's line much more sentimental.
Of course I do. I trust fans to accurately translate anime and manga that they have a passion for over a company with an agenda to make HxH appeal to the broadest western fanbase possible. Paid and certified translators staffed 4kids, that didn't stop them from being terrible.
>A small confined space, narrow corridors, claustrophobic atmosphere, monstrous nen beast, and some skilled nen users peppered into the scenario.
That sounds awesome to me, have no clue what you're on about anon.
its ok, but shouldn't be drawn out. i dont care about some serial killer prince that doesn't even know nen, nor are 50 issues of kurapika expositions fun. it would be ok if it wasn't hiatus x hiatus, but since it is i'd rather see the dc and maybe even gon again before togashi dies
Then it should be a short arc. We've got 13 princes to kill and so far none of them have even gotten a scratch. 14 short nen battles is plenty enough to pad out the boat trip, he just needs to get on with it already. Anon's right, we don't need the same thing explained to us twice, we need plot progression.
Well, it's not gonna be better than what's going to happen after of course (DC). But, it gives Togashi time to get us used to Kurapika again after his long hiatus, but I see what you're saying. I wanna see the Dark Continent too.
I'll try. No promises. But speaking of angry Pika,
Togashi clearly intends for the succession war to involve wits and strategy, which is why the recent chapters have been filled with speech bubbles.
But unfortunately, the very foundation upon which all this rests upon - a succession war on a boat - makes no sense at all. This makes the aforementioned strategy on the boat rather weak and forced, since Togashi selectively chooses when his manga needs to be smart and when it is not.
Sorry, when you said "Kurapika" and "flashback" I immediately thought you were talking about the special chapters. Mangastream's translations are definitely flawed, but I don't like accepting Viz's translations as the word of God. I think reading both realeases probably gives us the best insight into what was actually said if we can't read moon ourselves. If we were only looking at Viz's translation alone would would have never known that Bateman was making a dig on Cami here >>159696438.
I also find it pretty amusing that Viz takes a chapter that features a serial killer forcing a captured victim to get a full back tattoo against her will so that that he can skin her and hang it on the wall, and they add in some profanity that wasn't a part of the original script, and then they think it's necessary to censor it. Who do they think they are translating this series for?
I'll see if I can find any better Pika pages, but this worked out better than I thought it would.
ye cause the election arc with the nanika asspull didn't cool you down enough? he throws in the hisoka-chrollo fight, then goes back into the plebshow. we go from ca netero vs meruem and even election arc somewhat decent hisoka vs bodyguards etc situation to "muh nen meditation" and "muh im so evul ill use nen for evul". who gives a flying fuck? i wanna see ging-pariston in dc, beyond, pt-hisoka-kurapika showdown and not some 2d pleb princes that don't even use nen.
and again, im not saying these chapters are bad. im just saying that for a guy who works a few months and takes 2 year breaks, he sure takes his sweet fucking time with the filler. he is 55 yrs old, how long do you think he has? do you think at this pace we will get more than 1 gon arc?
Thought this arc pretty much slide in front of the DC I think the execution of the story is the blame not the location. In short, I believe that the entire 'nen beast can't fight each other or their host directly killed what could of been an exciting read. Now most of the face to face confrontations with the princes have been replaced with us reading several POV's that is filled with people talking about the war rather actively particularity in it. It's a huge let down.
If the pace worries then drop the series and move on. I'm not worried nor am I in a rush, this is Togashi's pace and his style too (lots of talking, very little action, some crazy new system; in this case nen beast that requires lots of explanation, etc). If it's an issue for you, then drop the series and move on.
Padding out a story by explaining the same concepts muliple times in large info dumps is filler, it's just a different way of using the word than you are use to with your big three schlock. Keeping the plot moving is instrumental to good story telling, being written by Togashi doesn't make HxH immune to that.
You are awfully quick to jump to ad hominem, aren't you?
what i want is character development on the cast that he intends to develop (like ging) and not some caricature characters like the princes who don't have any personalities other than "muh evul". and yes, i also want nen obviously since nen usage is a crucial part of hxh, and a whole chapter revolving around non nen-users is dull compared to previous chapters
It's not filler, Togashi likes info dumps and does it from time to time. It's just that people who got into the series via 2011 anime think that it's the standard storytelling of the series when it's not.
id like his pacing to be with characters that he actually wants to develop, not with filler princes who will be dead at the end of the arc. i like his style too, im just saying he should do said pacing in the dc and with main characters
>im just saying that for a guy who works a few months and takes 2 year breaks, he sure takes his sweet fucking time with the filler. he is 55 yrs old, how long do you think he has?
Fucking this so much. It's crazy that fans had deluded themselves into thinking that the current pace is fine when lord know that Togashi with be giving us the finger again in several weeks time.
i dont get it, do you not read whats being said?
I dont mind infodump, or the progression. the nen beasts actually look amazing, and are a very interesting concept on their own right. but all this could be done with recurring characters in the focus, that already have some characterization and will continue being developed. the princes (apart from benjamin) all look like 2d caricatures, apart from kurapika who do you really care about in this arc?
Prince don't think themself as fodder so it is right they get the spot. otherwise we would know who is gonna win just by virtue of who has the spotlight and that would make it boring
You clearly don't if you think it's filler. Togashi always introduces a shit ton of characters every new arc and fleshes them out as the arc progresses. Only a few characters are reoccurring enough to appear over and over: Hisoka, Ryodan and so on. This arc fits in well enough for Kurapika who's used to dealing with underworld types and murderers or thieves like he did in Yorkshin. He straight up stated he's no good with discovering the unknown, So, he may not get to shine as well as he can in this arc since it's right up his alley.
Just because it's something that Togashi does often doesn't make it good. Togashi is great at a lot of things, but he has problems with pacing and over-using exposition. It was annoying in the CA arc and it's annoying now.
he's in his 50s, already in debilitating pain. do people think he will be able to draw in his 70s? he has so much shit to resolve with the main character cast and people are ok with some filler chapter on a shit that revolves around non-main characters followed by a 2 year hiatus
but why do i care who will win? why were these people introduced, when he obviously wont take the time to flesh them out like he did with the royal guards and meruem? why make an arc around meme caricatures you'll kill off in the end anyway before your next hiatus?
but with this setting he has isolated kurapika from the rest of the cast, unlike the auction arc where kurapika was the focus but we also got pt and other character development.
>who have gotten a grand total of how much dialog until now? remind me
The arc just started, technically we would have been further along if it weren't for the intermission of Chrollo vs Hisoka last year.
HxH is literally on the fastest to ending getting a incomplete series with zero closure and people blindly defending it because there're convinced Togashi will someday pull thought and deliver on all the the ''promises" he's has made. This series is a borrowed time are its being wasted on shit that just didn't need to happen.
People have been saying that for years and they've been wrong for years. Continous serialization means nothing because a series can still be canceled or end abruptly regardless of how often it's published. See: Bleach.
I still don't understand why killua was crying here
Spoiler pics out.

>A new challenger appears
So what? Niggas are going to keep filing in one by one at this point?
