Who's going to watch the livestream here? Just five more hours.
I guess we will see what's going to happen.
Actual fansub groups nowadays seems to avoid subbing something that looks like children show though for whatever reason despite this is airing at late-night.
>tfw PV2 has had me excited for weeks
This looks like such a fun and cute show.
It's one of the two I've entered the season with high hopes for alongside Made in Abyss.
i also may or may not want to do lewd things to the mage loli
I almost ended up downloading the old series and watching it, but there's no point this close to release.
I hope we get plenty of Kukuri lewds with this new series.
literally built for cute clothes and dirty thoughts
I had the old series on my backlog. Now I can just watch this.
Shotacon following, not necessarily fujo, it's like Conan, but less popular.
There's not much either way, especailly when you compare to Kukuri and how popular the show used to be.
Saying the show has anything fujo related is pretty fucking retarded though, I wonder what that anon is smoking.
Sweet, I was afraid of being only one season long.
It's hard to say, the old anime was 50 episodes long and didn't really cover the whole manga.
It would be nice if this series got enough popularity in the west to motivate someone to translate the manga, so western fans can get the whole story. Maybe the Super Famicon games as well, they are nice.
I'm currently working through the old series, on episode 38 at the moment. I'll finish it (and the short movie) before starting the new season, but for anyone who's watched it - is it worth watching Doki Doki Densetsu as well, or can I leave it at that and start on the new series?
I've heard that DokiDoki is a sort of remake and not truly a sequel, but details on the internet seem to be a bit fuzzy.
>one of the best anime this season
Masterpieces like Made in Abyss, Centaur no Nayami, Tsurezure Children, Princess Principal, Boku no Hero Academia and New Game!! are airing in this season. Guru Guru can't possibly be as good as them.
DokiDoki is nice, but not as good as the original. You can skip it if you want since it doesn't add much, it's good if you really need more GuruGuru in your life, but there's a reason it's so unpopular, it's pretty boring most of the time.
Not sure if bait or just stupid.
>[HorribleSubs] Mahoujin Guru Guru (2017) - 01 [720p].mkv
Wait a second, that emblem.
It's not the same VA, it's now Konomi Kohara but Kukuri sounds just as cute as ever, maybe a bit softer than in the original.
I will miss Konami Yoshida singing voice, though
Damn I really dig this ED, OP was pretty nice as well.
As someone who hasn't seen the original, it certainly seemed fast-paced, but not in a bad way and I loved it. Actually, covering those events in 3 episodes sounds super slow. Did they skip some stuff ?
I watched the original anime 14 years ago and I actually didn't notice they rushed so much. Also looking at the old episodes again it would seem they put the old man earlier in the new TV anime unless it's not really him they meet getting attacked by a monster.
I'm sexually attracted to Kukuri.
I used to be a Jujufag.
Mahoujin Guru Guru was literally one of the first series I saw lewd for. Before even watching the show. I think some English site had tons of old lewd fanarts archived, and that was before 2000.
What a fucking great first chapter.
This shit and mia are my favorite of the season
I'm actually really excited for this, I've been keeping track of it for a couple months since the first PV piqued my interest so much. It pushes all my buttons in the right ways. Reminds me of watching 90's anime as a kid.
She's like that through the whole series, Juju's a gold mine of smug.
From the original
Haven't seen the original show, this episode is like the firs one from original series?
Why did this feel so rushed? If felt like they could have stretched everything that happened in the first half of the episode across two episodes and had more down time for jokes and character development like the original series
This is fun. I missed the wacky random anime comedy that makes no sense genre.
The lack of narrator is what upsets me the most, it's not the same thing really.
For the whole episode I was expecting retords or even simple descriptions done by the narrator.
Also I knew the pacing would be fast, but not this fast, it's like watching a recap ep more than anything.
Aside this, I really liked the episode and was very damn cute, but yeah if you're new to the serie you should watch the old anime instead of this. This is more something for old fans who want to remember about the original or something.
>I hope this sells a lot
This season is really really hard, anon. With fate, Touken Ranbu, New Game, Ballroom, etc. I'll consider 3.5k is great for this series & I'm being generous.
I didn't see the original series, but it reminds me of Di Gi Charat.
i wonder if it will take 12 episodes to get to the Prime Minister or the whole two cours
At this speed? 12 episodes for sure.
>tfw watched this show back then on a music player stream(or something like that)
>at the same time they streamed ragnarok the animation on a different channel
>had an amazing time watching those shows
seeing this makes me want to go back to that time.
I don't remember too many things besides the most important parts, so this works great for me.
Nice to see this again in crisp HD even if they did cut scenes.
The old OP and EDs are still better
Original was pretty slow, but this is pretty rushed
This was unexpectedly fucking great.
I love it.
Oh god, that was fucking great, i loved it. There's not many anime nowadays that keeps me grinning like an idiot for the whole episode. Ok, it was a bit rushed, but everything else was just perfect. If it keeps on this level it's seriously AOTY material.
Btw for a fine fantasy anime we had to took one from 20 years ago, just saying.
Why isn't anyone watching this? The episode was way more entertaining than everything else that aired this season.
I mean, I guess that the most popular places to discuss anime on the internet are MAL, /a/ and /r/anime
is Gaia still relevant?, and:
>this thread is barely alive
>the MAL thread for the first episode only has 15 posts
>the /r/anime thread for the first episode only has 22 posts
I don't get it.
>Ok, it was a bit rushed, but everything else was just perfect.
If you think that then you might want to check the original show for that because this episode was like 2-3 episodes of the old show.
Holy SHIT this first episode was so fucking good. It captures the energy and liveliness of 90s comedies so goddamn well, down to the style and music. I laughed a ton and I have a huge stupid smile on my face.
I'm so happy.
It took literal years to get the first season of GuruGuru translated. Took even longer for them to fail to do the second season fully. I was hoping they'd do better this time.
I didn't know fansub groups even finished Doki Doki, I was watching one group take like 4 years to finally admit they stopped caring about it and left it to rot like 5 episodes in. Who should I grab it from?
This and Made in Abyss are the two best anime of the season, for sure.
I wonder if the new short (pic related) which is going to start this Friday will be subbed as well.
Holy shit this was delightful, just what I've been needing. I somehow have never seen the old series, though I was aware of it and always figured it would probably be something I would enjoy. I guess it was from a time between the anime watching of my early youth and the time when I returned to it as an adult.
This was a great first episode. Just dripping nostalgia and the type of fun, zany comedy that anime of the 90s through early 00s was so full of. Kukuri is super fucking cute.
Time to go back and watch the old series.
Didn't feel the nostalgia truly hit till that shit.
>watch the first ep of the 1994 anime
>watch the first ep of the 2017 one
Woah, you guys weren't kidding about the pacing. Jesus.
Not that it's a bad thing. Just different.
Also Kukuri is insanely adorable.
i want to do lewd things to her
I like the artstyle
>some shows this season got a grand total of 20
>every season there are simulcast shows that don't even get threads
>All the different costumes he gets on the umbrella.
I love silly shit like this. I watched it as if I was a kid again, even though I never saw the original. I should've waited til morning and breakfast though, I think I'd enjoy it a lot more than at night.
Too many for a reasonable post size, so I just put em all in a pastebin.
Honestly, I find myself enjoying this the most. It's so cheerful and fun compared to everything else I'm watching.
It was inevitable with how much the threads liked posting those pages out of context.
Ballroom, BnHA, Boruto, F/A, Kakegurui, Touken Ranbu, Knight's & Magic, Made in Abyss, New Game, Princess Principal, Re-Creators, Symphogear, Bahamut, Altair.
I might drop Altair though. I also plan to pick up the Stan Lee DEEN show.
The most cancerous fanbase this season.
Have to drop the show because one of those fags posted unmarked spoiler page in a unrelated thread just to prove how dark and edgy xddd they are.
I haven't seen the original, but this show was super fun.
I guess this really is a season where you've got to bank on the low-key things like this, 18if and Action Heroine, because the more popular stuff is kind of disappointing.
>Have to drop the show because one of those fags posted unmarked spoiler page
Anon, please. You should be aware of this /a/ nature.
I bet you doesn't watch Ballroom since you didn't complain about it. Spoilers are so wild in Ballroom thread too.
>reading threads for anime adaptions when you haven't read the entire source material yourself
Come on anon, you should know better than that. Unless you're one of those weirdos who get off on spoilers
This shit was spooky.
Separating things by their airing day is a nice idea, no idea how I've never thought of doing that until now.
And I guess I might as well post my watching list since everyone else did it. >>159694426
Like he said, it's just a bit of time per day. Even if you aren't an useless NEET you should be able to spare two or so hours per day doing something you love.
And yeah, I still really enjoy watching anime, even ten years after I started watching seasonal stuff.
>opening by oresama
I came. same pair that did alice's OP
why didn't anybody ever scanlate the manga? it's so much better than the anime, I bought the first volumes when they published them in my country (italy) but then they stopped when the publisher closed or stuff like that, i remember laughing loudly IRL while reading it, and I could only find RAWs online
Knight's & Magic
Nana Maru San Batsu
Made in Abyss
Jikan no Shihaisha
Shoukoku no Altair
Ballroom e Youkoso
Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.
Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e
Hajimete no Gal
Dragon Ball Super
Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul
I actually liked the fast pacing of the episode.
It seemed to jump and skip really fast but that made it transition from one scene to another at such a good pace that it never slowed down or stayed still for long.
The use of comedic cuts did the work and it felt like a lot happened in one episode by the end.
It felt like a parody but still real enough, like a condensed quick big adventure, which matched well the colorful and cheerful cartoonish feel.
Knights & Magic
Made in Abyss
Jikan no Shihaisha
Vatican Miracle Examiners
Bahamut Virgin Soul
>but it's the only anime that actually captures being a videogame and not simply using it as an excuse to not explain how things work.
And it's actually funny unlike some "parodies" out there.
This is my new waifu Kukuri
Say something nice about her
>tfw kept pausing every 30 seconds to take screenshots of Kukuri
So this is gonna be one of those shows, huh.
>Made In Abyss
>Centaur's no Nayami
>Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama Kun
>Youkai Apartment no Yuuga no Nichijou
>Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni. (will probably drop - only checked out because the premise is so fucking stupid)
This is not ok.
Thank you for these.
Boku no hero academia
Made in abyss
Centaur worries (1st ep was boring but anons have told me it goes crazy with conspiracy shit later on)
Princess principal (I hardly know what's going on tho)
Yami shibai (this season seems to be keeping its shit together so far)
I was also looking forward to new game! but it is more boring than I remembered.
Not him but I think I've seen every page of gore or naked child events in unrelated threads. Had to filter the images because people kept posting them under spoiler in reply to unrelated discussion with generic filenames and nothing in post to indicate it. I always assume the spoiler is relevant or lewds and end up filtering shitty reposts.
Only if they fix ducken's design. The game ones are adorable terrorists compared to that thing.
There are tricks that allow you to do CD reads with the rom so not all is lost. The DS game wasn't bad either, though I did find it easier financially. No potato hell.
>a commonly used and easily understood term is embarrassing
To clarify, there wouldn't have been anything wrong with her being purely demure and passive (not everyone has to be a Lina Inverse), and I kind of dislike the term 'moeblob' since it's used by detractors of modern anime when the '10s are my favorite decade. The word was just a shortcut to describe the kind of character that I expected she would be - completely sweet, docile, and cute. She has a lot more range than I expected.
Oh, I remember this episode, I hope they don't skip this, Kukuri trying to be sexy was so cute.
ORESAMA delivers again
You could have also used the word shallow.
Is she the purest girl this season?
Purest girl of the year even?
>spellcaster that spend her whole life studying chaotic black magic
The purest summoner of dark abominations.
They did a great job with it, it was very cartoonish and I don't use that in a bad way.
It was fun, light hearted, goofy and entertaining, it made me feel very nostalgic but it didn't feel like some shitty show made for little kids, I.G. actually put in real effort to make it good.
I love it when they still using 90's shining effect. Nice touch indeed.
I like the videogame sprite explanation too.
The asthetics of guru guru are just so good.
I actually enjoy anime! Every season!
>enjoying what you watch
Ha! Funny joke.
Not so surprising! I also enjoyed the anime you posted! But the yankee was the best and cutest!
pic related was another one I enjoyed! Good talk anon! Keep enjoying fun things okay?
Hmm, I just noticed. I remember in the old anime they didn't really make a reaction face joke when Kukuri thought she was plain-looking. She just looked sad before Nike gave her the accessory.
Did I remember that correctly?
What a loser. Keep watching those shows you like and enjoying them. I'd complement on your good taste in shows I also enjoy, if I actually admitted to enjoying them.
In un mondo di mistero e magia...
It didn't just "air", it was pretty huge and got more than a few reruns. It's one of THE nostalgic shows for that generation.
>The lack of narrator is what upsets me the most, it's not the same thing really.
The narrator was a BIG part of what made the old show funny. I can understand getting rid of it if you want to speed the pace up... for now, I loved this episode. I don't know if in the long run the fast pace or the lack of a narrator to crack RPG jokes will hurt it. I hope not, I'm having fun for now.
It has a fast pace, but fast-paced comedy works for a show this colorful, cheerful and energetic.
...Pretty much nothing? I wanted to watch Knight's and Magic, but it's a meaningless isekai wish-fulfillment fantasy show wearing the flayed skin of the Mecha genre, like that bug monster in Men in Black. I'm angry that I even gave it a chance.
Watching Fate Apochrypha literally only for Best Girl Astolfo. I'm bored already and might drop it.
Liked Re: Creators' premise but it got dumb. A lot of talking and of characters not telling important things to each other for no other reason than to create meaningless drama.
Watched ep1 of akura Quest but I got bored of another Cute Girls Doing Cute Jobs show.
Boku no Hero Academia is the onbly other thing I'm REALLY INTO.
Watched Touken Ranbu just for the fight scenes, I liked them.
Symphogear, because it has cute girls beating the shit out of giant monsters.
That's it. This show, BnHA and Nymphogeah are the only things i'm liking.
Purest girl of the multiverse.
