And in Jasminka and Constance's scenarios the episodes wouldn't even be about them. Their idea for a Jasminka episode was a gag story in which they try to put Jasminka on a diet and accidentally almost wake up the demon so they give up in the end.

Yes, it is. Yes, the teases are there, enough to have the Andrew x Akkofags hooked, but ultimately it doesn't matter in the long run because they dropped the entirety of the romance idea, in the sense that it's not something they put in the back burner. They completely dropped it.

Plus, if they properly use his character in future episodes, like put him to interact with people that are not Akko, like Diana or the other witches, it would only help to emphatize he's not a love interest.

Depends on what your expectations are coming in. The TV series is pretty much unanimously agreed to be much inferior to the OVAs, but it's still largely fun and has a lot of memorable and enjoyable moments, at least enough for most of us to want a second season.

The snark battle they had going on led me to believe that, but I was left figuring out what's the actual deal between these two.

Another thing is that Andrew considered witches "strange", yet considered Akko "unique", which is fucking weird because not only witched are supposed to be mysterious and strange, but Diana mingled almost perfectly with the muggle aristocracy despite being one. Another reason why I think that Andrew's interest in magic felt shallow. Even Frank felt more sincere. Hopefully they address and fix this in future LWA stuff if they plan to keep using him.
