Plenty of 4-koma adaptations aren't just a string of bombastic memes that fit easily into gifs, and I'm sure the 4-koma for this was designed with social media in mind too. I enjoy this style of show, but it has a marketing advantage over other shows regardless of quality, and other studios will consider this when making their own shows. All they have to do to make a popular show appeal to reddit.
