Guys, I recently finished the series and there's something I need to get off my chest.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH THAT?

I mean, sure Holbrooke always lets the girls off easy when they make trouble, but it's usually harmless and nothing that the school can't hande to begin with.
But Croix endangered students, attacked a fellow teacher, did enormous damage to the country, she could have started a war, or even outright destroyed France.
It is France, right?
Anyway, for all the harm she did. she barely did anything to help in the end, and the headmistress just gives her a pass after all that?
That was so frustrating to see. I almost got a headache at how completely without consequence the whole thing was for Croix.

Anyway, this one line might be my only issue with the series. Other than that, I'm very happy with it. Cried at the ending and everything.

There are a lot of problems with how the story wraps up. It's like they made the finale to the show they imagined they'd made rather than what they'd actually made.

I agree with all your points but for the first. Nothing indicates that Croix's creation was a "death machine" by design; only that it was to be used to break open the Grand Triskelion. Anything outside that purpose was due to it overloading and malfunctioning, and she was clearly distressed when it went out of control and started attacking her and especially Chariot. She would restrain Chariot against her will, yes, but it's clear she never intended to bring harm to her or anyone else.

Except maybe that one fire spirit she maimed as part of her initial infiltration. But he made a full recovery, yes?

Again, didn't see it like that. Begrudgingly is not the word I'd use. It seemed pretty genuine to me, finally having to acknowledge that Akko is actually pretty great.
They were awkward and kind of bureaucratic about it, but that's just because nobody likes to admit they're wrong.
Besides, there is some time passed between the crisis and that little gathering. I think Hannah and Barbara just slowly started getting along with the girls instead of turning a sudden 180.

Well I finished it too.
And I find it disturbing that in this day and age an anime about cute girls doing cute things can be made without there being at least a dozen lewd scenes.
I hope they come to their senses or this is obviously doomed to failure.

But aside from my obvious /u/ shitposting, the writing really could've been much better. The whole 7 words thing was forced as fuck and most of them didn't even feel important, and that's without mentioning the episodes that did fuck all for the plot. Same thing with the whole murdercube thing, it just came across as cheap LN chuuni writing. Also character development was really weak, giving an entire episode to Amanda without getting a change in relationship to the main was pretty lazy.
And as much as the ending was decent it really fell a bit flat. Restoring the entire magical world to greatness as well as stopping magical assured destruction should've felt a bit more satisfying and emotional.

If I'd be forced to give it a score I'd say it gets a 7/10, it was average but fun enough. At least the animation style holds up well.
Considering I usually avoid Trigger shows like the plague that's quite an achievement.

Her realizing that she's done some bad shit is only the first step in her redemption, that's why she wants to go on the Wagandea quest after serving her time, maybe to reevaluate some life choices.

Now let's be fair here, that scene is months afterwards, and in that time Diana was very good friends with Akko. It makes sense that she would spend time with Akko and thus end up spending time with Akko's friends. Assuming that Hannah and Barbara still follow Diana around occasionally, Diana could easily get them to lighten up some more. And keep in mind that they saw Akko shoot down a missile and spread magic around the world which would certainly earn some respect.
