Now that 2nd episode is here, I'll recap some of the story for the game. I'll spoiler it just in case.

The back story is as explained in episode 2: Irous attacked mankind, only girls that's blessed by the shinju tree can fight them, the girls are rounded as "Hoshimori". Note that at the start of the game, the girls didn't use the current flora uniform to fight. Instead they use a saint seiya-like armor (Phoenix,Leviathan, and Unicorn armor). Sadone and the lesbian idols haven't joined the team.

Story 1:
The story mostly follows the player (Sensei) who has been chosen by Shinju tree to help the Hoshimori. a couple of chapter are mostly about Sensei introduced to each of the girls, and some mission in between. At one of the mission Miki saw a girl who stands with the Irous. That girl is Sadone.

Next chapter deals mostly with mostly SoL and training plus missions. They also met with Sadone a couple of times. Sadone is mad because the Hoshimori are bullying her "friends", the Irous, and they fought a cpouple of times. Sadone seems to have the ability to control the Irous. She's also seen to be "guided" by her ally, Evina.

Fast forward a bit, Evina figures out the way to stole Sadone's power of controlling Irous, and told her to do a battle against Hoshimori. When Sadone lost, Evina stole her ability, and abandoned Sadone. The Hoshimori then transfer back to their HQ, also abandoning Sadone, but Mimi sneakily took Sadone with her.

The team finally decide to keep Sadone, but Kaede refuses them strongly. She then took Sadone out to transport her back to the Earth, but they kinda bonded in between. Kaede then helped Sadone fight against the Irous when she got surrounded by them. In a pinch they got reinforcement from the other girls. In the end Sadone is now accepted as one of the Hoshimori, and now lives with Kaede in her mansion.

Later, they got a mission in the moon. After that they got another mission to get the Shinju tree back to earth. Battle ensues, also involving fighting against Evina. I actually forgot a couple of tidbits involving the headmaster and the political warfare in here. Long story short, Hoshimori finally managed to bring the Shinju tree back on earth and push back the invading Irous a little bit. End of story 1.

Story 2:
Hoshimori met with a new human-type irous and many case of missing girls. They also found out that the current equipment's power is inadequate to fight against the new type Irous. Before being overwheilmed, they are saved by mysterious duo, using a stronger weapon to defeat the Irous. Later Urara recognizes the duo as the famous idol, f*f. They met again a couple of times, with f*f always save the day because the Hoshimori's lack of firepower. The f*f duo got their power from a mysterious woman, and they got help from their teacher, Nanashima Aoi.

The Hoshimori then met with a new enemy, Aruru. A mascot like doll enemy. Aruru and Evina tries to defeat the Hoshimori by trapping and sepparating each one of them in another space and attack their heart's weakness. This actually backfires the enemy because not only the Hoshimori resist their move, they also finally unlock the true potential of Shinju's power, giving them the current Flora battle uniform.

Later, the Hoshimori fights together with the lesbian idol duo, and in the end the duo got transferred to the Hoshimori from their current school as temporary helpers. Aoi also helped the sensei in figuring out the attack pattern of the Irous. Then the team found out that the human type Irous are actually the missing girls. The f*f knew about this but didn't tell the team, and the Irous that they defeated are currently in recovery.

Part 2 of Story 2 mostly about f*f. The duo are trying to balance their idol activities and their live as Hoshimori. They are also slowly blending in with the team, especially with Urara and Kokomi because of Urara's love for idol. Later, when the f*f's are in concert, the concert got attacked by Evina. The Hoshimori fight against the Irous, and drove Evina away. Then, Evina is later defeated by her superior, Iris. Iris is then planning on her next move against Hoshimori.

f*f is blending in with the Hoshimori, but because of that, Shiho feels like Kanon is more and more drifted away from her. Shiho also got her confidence attacked because of people's review about the f*f, with Kanon mostly stealing the spotlight. Shiho tries to consult with Aoi, but she becomes fore depressed because of Aoi keeps on praising Kanon. Kanon then got a talk from her management about going Solo. later, Kanon got baited by Aoi and said tha she caon do fine with her alone without Shiho's help, and Shiho heard that. Shiho got depressed, and finally lost it. She went to the dark side with the help of Iris, who is actually the true form of Nanashima Aoi. Shiho then goes MIA.

Long story short, the team tries to help Shiho but with no avail, until Kanon tries to fight her alone. Urara and Kokomi gives help to Kanon, and finally Kanon and Shiho reconnects. Kanon then blocks an attack from an Irous aiming for Shiho. In Kanon,s deathbed, the f*f got a help from the Shinju tree, gviving them their flora uniform. All of the Hoshimori later fought against a Hulk-ified Aruru, and defeated it, Iris retreats. End of Story 2.

Next one is Story 3, but in between, there're a couple of mini stories.

The first one is about Sadone. She began to remember her past via her dream. Kaede heard Sadone's sleeptalk, and begin to search the whereabout of Sadone's parents. Later in a fight, Sadone got hurt and her pointy ears cracked. Weapon sensei deduce that the pointy ears block Sadone's memory, but removing it could revert Sadone back before she doesn't have her pointy ears, resulting in her forgetting all the stuff about the Hoshimori. Sadone is afraid of forgetting her new friends, and Kaede isn't around to consult. Sadone's afraid of Kaede leaving her.

later, Sadone founds out about Kaede's whereabout, and teh fact that she's searching for Sadone's parents. Irous attack happened, and it's at Kaede's location. Sadone jumps in for help, and got her ear broke in the process. Sadone then talks about removing her pointy ears, but said that she will never forget Kaede, sensei, and her friends. Second one is about the rumor Miki heard from eavesdropping on headmaster room. She then thinks that it's about Sensei being fired. I forgot the story in between, but long story short, it turns out to be a talk about the school removing the old blazer uniform and changing it with the current sailor uniform.

Most of us thinks that the above 2 stories is because of the Anime decision. Also, I have to go now, someone please finish telling the story 3 if you want. Mari is badass.

Not all the time. Sometimes her eyes turn from the usual dead to all sparkly from excitement, and I think that's the cutest part about her. I don't hate her default anime eyes, but they still ruin that moment. She completely lacks that yandereish feel so far, too. Horn ears will always be better than normal ears.

The gameplay is pretty fun overall, I'd definitely go back to it and play the shit out of it if the gacha and gem gain wasn't the 2nd worst thing ever right after Houkai. You have to be able to do the tower with consistency to benefit. I'd say it's a 10 roll every two weeks. Some of the characters are getting a bit more pushed it feels than others. Asuha seems to be put in a more prominent role, where we've got to see her when she's being the serious kaichou, and then when she's thrown completely out of her element.

Not only that, but we're already building up some potential conflicts with Misaki, like with Yuri and Misaki. Should be interesting to see how it plays out. Looking at how the story is progressing, I wouldn't be surprised if we did get a Dark Misaki or something of that nature.

Moving on with story 3:
Miki, Haruka, and Subaru is talking about their future career print out. They then meet with Yakumo (Itsuki) sensei (blue haired glasses) and Mitsurugi (Furan) sensei (Ponytail with big boobs). The trio asks to why they became a teacher. Yakumo sensei then told them their stories, sets in 5 years before the current event, about the team that called "The strongest Hoshimori", with Itsuki, Furan, and one other person as the member.

Enter Sakaide Mari, the third member of the strongest Hoshimori. She's a nice, gentle girl, and a bit of a pacifist with a low self esteem. At this time, as you can expect, Itsuki is like how Asuha today: strict, smart, and dignified, while Furan likes to fight with hoodlums here and there. with those 2 contrasting personalities, Mari is there as the mediator. The reason of Mari's low self esteem is simple: although being considered as one of the strongest hoshimori, she still doesn't have her flora unfirom unlike Itsuki and Furan.

At the earlier part of the story, most of them are about SoL, with mission in between. Eventually, the Hoshimori gains a new, young member: 1st year middle school Asuha. Serious girl who looks up to the trio, but mostly Mari. Also in between, sometimes during a mission, Mari will met a civilian that got attacked by Irous: Nanashima Aoi. One time, when Mari met her, she has to choose either helps Aoi or a bunch of kids that also got attacked. Aoi told Mari to help the kids, and she will be fine. Mari complies, but after saving the kid, Aoi is gone, and she never see Aoi again. This further attacks Mari's confidence as she feels responsible of what might have happened to Aoi.

Itsuki and Asuha differ a lot, it's more like the Itsuki from then is who the current Asuha is imitating. Itsuki kind of suffers from rage, especially when dealing with Fuuran. On the other hand,

Moving on, they got a big mission to rescue civilians from Irous attack in the mountain. The Hoshimori split up: the strongest trio go ahead and fight the Irous boss, and Asuha and othe Hoshimori rescue the civilians in escaping. At this time, Asuha saves a kid in danger of being attacked by Irous. That kid is young Wakaba Subaru, and that's the reason Subaru looks up to Asuha.

The trio on the other hand, have to fight against a new, flying type Irous. Things got out of hand, and Furan and Itsuki got knocked out (either that or Mari got separated with the two, I forgot). Fighting alone, Mari got desperate, blaming her weakness until finally she realize that, the reason she hasn't got her flora uniform is because she thinks that she's still below Itsuki and Furan, that she has to chase them, when in reality, she's already stand side by side with the two. Long story short, Mari found her confidence, got her flora uniform, and defeated the boss type Irous.

Final part of story 3, earth suddenly got atatcked by many Irous. The three is in an area with a high density of miasma, and suddenly Furan and Itsuki are out. Mari then reunited with Aoi, and Aoi told her that she's the one who controls the Irous.

The reason Aoi is watching Mari si because Aoi needs Mari's body to becomes the host for her real body. Aoi then gives Mari 2 choice: To fight to the death with the Irous around her while protecting her 2 friends, or gives her body to Aoi, and Aoi will spare her 2 friends but in return, will make the Irous invasion stronger. Mari strongly rejects her offer, and she fought with tons of Irous. Later, Mari is exhausted, Irous are still everywhere. Aoi reveals her true power, scaring Mari and gives Mari one final decision to make. Mari finally gave in, hoping that at least Itsuki and Furan will be saved. Aoi then reveals her form, called Iris, and possess Mari's body. It turns out that the current Iris in the present BGHS timeline is, in fact, Mari but with the mind of Iris/Aoi.

Itsuki and Furan woke up, got told by Loli Asuha and the headmaster that they have to move Shinju to space because they can't stop the Irous invasion. Furan and Itsuki got dejected because they cannot find Mari, only her ribbon. After that, Furan and Itsuki graduates, goes on their own way, until finally they reunited by chance. They then became a teacher, like how mari wants to be a teacher to help the younger Hoshimori.

Flashback ends, Miki and co cried, Asuha came in and got tackled by the crying three, especially Subaru. Asuha got told by Yakumo-sensei and Mitsurugi-sensei to lead the new Hoshimori. Story 3 ends.

The main difference is the sheer number of characters and starting point. Most light novel adaptions tend to be from the start, in which the number of starting characters tend to be low and the focus only on a certain number. Not only that, but there tends to be more exposition on who and what each character is from the very start, with focus being narrower. The way the Batoga anime is presented, it's already jumping you to the middle of the story, so there's no real character introductions. Not only that, but due to time/budget constraints, it can't give each character an episode unlike say Idolmaster or Love Live.

There's ABSOLUTELY no problem with the number of characters, the story or a show doing that.

Take something like Horizon in the middle of nowhere, you're presented with a fuckhuge cast and it starts at full speed. It doesn't take 6 episodes to introduce its cast, it doesn't take 6 episodes to introduce the world and it doesn't stop to explain every single thing. It went full speed from ep1 with episode 3-4 feeling like I was watching your average ep11-12 of a normal show and it was great.

If anything, more shows should do this. Assume your viewers have a brain and don't spend half of your airing time introducing characters, instead jump right to the story which is what we want to watch. It sucks so much when a show's S1 is basically just one huge introduction to everyone and it only has like the last 3 chapters to actually deal with plot and conflicts.

So if Misaki is Miki daughter does that mean the dad is Sensei?
