Love may take many paths. It's not heresy to desire Lain's physical form, just keep it to yourself.
I really should upload my Lain folder sometime. I've been building upon that old wallpaper pack on Nyaa for a while, with plenty of new wallpapers from /w/ as well as many rare Lains. I could even include some extra stuff like Nightmare of Fabrication, the OSTs and the PSX game + translated document in a neat torrent. Is anyone interested?
Alright. Not now because I'm currently phoneposting, but please look forward to future Lain threads, mostly due to my shitty upload speeds.
Mebious should have a bunch more stuff linked on it.. somewhere.
Here's the whole lot of these.
252 large res scans total.
Always happy to encourage more lainposting.
>tfw can't even connect over the internet anymore
Anon has fucked me up for life. I don't want to take responsibility for ideas I just want to set them loose and see how they go.
I think this is a good chance to ask this. See picture related (plus that one moment where she mentions to the viewer how 'over there, I know I'm everywhere') , are we making Lain unhappy when we share and create pictures of her?
If someone isn't remembered by anyone, it's as if they never existed. By extension, a fictional character that made you feel, think and remember is real.
While being a work of fiction, they exist in your mind the same way as memories of people you see outside.
For as long as you remember, Lain exists. As soon as the last person forgets, she ceases to exist. Just like the rest of us, really.
At least that's how I figure the show meant it.
Has anybody else shown their true love for lain and bought a copy?
Amazon; cheapest used around 200$, 250$ for a very good quality, and upwards of 500$ for new copies
Why isn't japan doing existential stuff anymore?
Cause moe sells and not enough people are doing psychedelics like in the 90s
What if all the governments banned stuff like psychedelics because it actually made us unlock our brains' full potential, at least temporarily? What if anime and cartoons were trying to get us to unplug ourselves?
why was her show too pretentious ? putting a nice girl in a pretentious show makes mad
This is very interesting.
Isn't all anime and cartoons just an escape though. It's made to get you to unplug.
It was perfectly fine. You just don't do much abstract thinking.
Me too, anon. I guess it just makes more sense for her to stay young forever.
On an unrelated note, it's fun seeing how just a couple different lines make for a completely different character.
You sly dog, you.
>point of the show is that you shouldnt let the internet replace your real life
>everyone that watches it does the exact opposite
Well let's be real, it's not the most impressive or unique style by far. A faithful modern recreation could probably do the show some good.
Good enough for a firm little grope, I would hope.
I love the ending theme. You don't even have to understand the language to get the gist of what it's about, the vocals are so painfully rough.
Rather late but thread theme:
>mfw i have over 6000 lains to sort through after using jdownloader through /c/`s archives, and i still have 22 Lain threads to peruse
>weird girl with god powers flings you across the room with her mind to scare answers out of you
>after it's all over get up and put your tongue in her mouth
Lil boy was alpha as fuck
people are more stupid and selfish now, also it doesn't sale, another fact is the change in culture, i don't know how was the jap culture in the 90's, but in 20 years went from "fuck everything" to the PC bullshit that we have now in the west, a similar change could have happened
>something about Lain's hairclip always facing the viewer
>something something even she doesn't know how that is, if I remember rightly
Thanks for dumping all this art anon, these are great.
I wasn't expecting this thread to stay up so long. I might even run out at this rate.
I wish I could go back to the early days of the net, when things weren't so horrible.
I can see a lot of flaws with how things are now due to multiple factors, and I really miss those times. However, I think it's for the best those times stay there so we can find new things to enjoy interlaced with the knowledge we know about what made things good in the past and what could make things better in the future.
>interlaced with the knowledge we know about what made things good in the past and what could make things better in the future.
but that's not what happens, it's a never ending cycle
>new medium is created
>has a brief golden age
>gets ruined by normalfags
every goddamn time
I remember seeing a TV-show about fun and interesting websites to discover and writing them down on a piece of paper, to then quickly go through because dial-up cards I bought were time-based.
Half of those sites are probably long dead, if I went back to rewatch the show.
thank you for sharing once again anon.
I look forward to loving lain with you again
also captcha loves lain too apparently
