What didn't you like about it? The direct relationship between master and servant, as well as Aroma's creativity and idiosyncratic usage of the word, led me to decide a neologism would work well. I did look at the "standard" translations of koakuma (小悪魔) but didn't particularly like any of them or find them well suited there. Playing the Pripuz mystery rare event. I've got no hope of getting the MR, but I can at least grind the stars to pick up the PPR Aroma and Mikan that I don't have. Or so I thought.
PPR Mikan's the rarest card in the pool at 0.4% - I must have rolled about 50 x 11 Rolls, and not gotten a SINGLE PPR Mikan.
2 Aromas, about 5 Garurus and 4 Lalas. Shittons of SR EXP cards though, everyone's at max level.

Still got a day though, I can grind some more. Fucking Mikan PPR must get!

Pripuz premium gacha is pretty much dead in the water for F2P anyway, you don't get enough free gems to regularly spin any more than a single roll at 2% for the headline cards. They haven't balanced it to properly tease people yet, I just ignore it most of the time.
Only reason this one is getting me if because it's free and easy to collect enough tokens to have a big spin, and I not having these cards has been leaving a hole in my line-up.

If it wasn't for the events I'd just be on daily logins for this game. Pripuz Parallel has boosted my interest in this game through the roof, too many interesting designs not to pay attention to them.
The game itself is simple chain-6 gameplay, flick your stylus around to chain 6 of the same character face together and get a pripuz piece, get 4 pripuz peices and go Cyalume time. Taps stuff, get big score, win cards and coins. It's pretty basic and nothing to get excited about.

I do like how they've balanced the difficulty in that character and team synergys play a real big part, and you're often mixing up teams to get a good combination of skills, iine points, nakayoshis, and lucky points, as well as stage-specific target types, to get the desired effect.
However all that flies out the window when you talk about the premium gacha cards. If you were lucky enough to get Super Cyalume cards, you've got broken win everything cards. If you roll a premium event card, you win the event - triply so when it comes to the High Score events, where premium cards can boost your score well beyond what a non-gacha player can do.
Some events are fine though, you can handle point-grinding events without gacha cards. You won't get the top 100, but you'll be fine for one of the bigger prizes if you want.

Only time to spend money in Pripuz is the 100% special gachas.

Are these new characters for Dream Festival S2?

I would love to watch these shows, because they're cute and and the only anime left that has actual lolis.

But I can't stand the simplistic plot, that they're idols, and that it's targeted at little kids. The latter wouldn't stop me, but it contributes to the fact that they are unwatchable, unless you're still a kid in your mind.

Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream is, plotwise, one of the best anime I've seen in my fucking life, I'm dead serious.
Honestly what I like about these shows is that even though they're supposed to be for kids, they don't necessarily make a low-quality or half-assed product just because "kids will eat it up anyways". Don't be fooled though, Aikatsu and Precure do seem follow this mentality, but the rest generally have a lot of love and talent put into them, and it results in interesting and fun plots, or top tier comedy, or both.

If simplistic plot is a problem, maybe shows that usually don't really care about their plots or are very episodic would work for you? Have you checked out PriPara or some Jewelpet seasons? In Jewelpet they aren't even idols.

Aurora Dream was fun and good, but it did not have a particularly good plot to be hondesu. Aira's story was had very little in the way of believable or worthwhile development, Rhythm's backstory, her mother and Chris just felt like random elements jumbled together and Mion was best but didn't really have anything resembling an interesting story.

Great plots in kids shows for me are more like Princess Tutu, CCS or Heartcatch. Even Aikatsu, while lower-key and more slow-burn, with much fewer plot episdoes, told a more convincing and well-constructed story for me, for Ichigo's story at least.

Simplistic plots are a lot more tolerable than plots which try way too hard to be profound, are infinitely laden with marketable cliches, or are just lazily copied from amateur LNs. No anime is going to be high literature, so just take it easy.

Idols are fun for everybody

Kid shows have some of the best writing and visual direction around, historically, even if its topically simple material. The episodic format really allows ambitious creators to shine.

Luckily there are many anime that are neither of these things. Of course, if anyone were to mention any they happen to like, you'll call them pretentious and not worth watching as compared to "high literature", so you're in a good position to argue from.

We get a couple most years.

Rakugo was fucking great. It overdid the literally forced theatricality but the dying grumpy old man coming to terms with his failures, successes and so-called death of the artform he loves was fantastic.

The first three-quarters of Seikaisuru Kado were interesting and thought-provoking, if a bit simplistic and not falling far from the classic sci-fi fiction novels it clearly admires. I'll take a series that aims high and fucks the landing over along with nine average ones over ten that never try and succeed or fail.

Bahamut 2 is fun as fuck and has some really solid backstory writing like the episode with Jeanne and her kid.

Uchouten Kazoku was gr8, not as good as S1 but still great.

Youjo Senki had a pretty bold, simple concept of one man against destiny's stacked deck and just had fun with it, very enjoyable stuff. Watching Loli Blackadder's attempts to get out of the war comedically backfire due to her ego and knack for walking into trouble never got old and when it showed her from another angle (episode 1 and the episode with her rival from the other army) it demonstrated real character writing chops to portray her as an inhuman terror without detracting from her more balanced personality in the episodes purely from her POV.

ACCA wasn't half as clever as it thought it was, but it had atmosphere in spades and did justify its investment, like a good page-turner.

Kuzu no Honkai had serious problems developing most characters' stories, Evil Sensei was a walking joke of a character from the start and it also ran out of directorial tricks pretty quick, but... actually, no, fuck Kuzu no Honkai. First episode and the ones focusing on Moka were okay though I guess.

Anyway, that's this year so far.

It's pretty worth, maybe don't listen too hard to the people who say it's a masterpiece.
It's not big on sakuga but there's some excellent direction - framing, colour, shot composition - especially in the rakugo segments.
If you finish S1 and have issues with the eponymous shinjuu, the second season may change your view on that somewhat, so keep an open mind.
Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

So if you had 200 slots, you now have 200 idol card slots and 200 upgrade card slots.
It was so god damn annoying to have to repeatedly whittle down your upgrade mats to make room for idols.

Watched Aurora Dream.
Thank you, anon who feels NTR'd from het in his shoujo shows, I wouldn't picked it up that soon otherwise.
It was pretty good, but a bit clumsy in handling some stuff. For example Callings being a trio who for no reason suddenly OTPs MARs is the worst trope. I guess Shou and Aira did their own thing and Rizumu's character made Rizumu and Hibiki work, but Wataru and Mion was just awkward.
Aira was pretty weak as protagonist too. Tiara Cup was probably her best moment in the whole show, while other moments with her were good only because of interactions with other characters. Which fits the prism theme I guess, but feels pretty meh.
Rizumu, Mion and Kaname were great though.

Aikatsu S1 had the energy right and everything was new and exciting.
S2 onwards fell into the trap of trying to introduce new things but having too much baggage to drag around, as well as a reluctance to allow anyone to fail.
Stars doesn't seem to be embracing any of it's strengths really well and is just floundering in mediocrity.

Pripara S1 was played a bit too straight and they didn't really work out what they wanted to do with the show for a while.
S2 is brilliant. They tackled the characters and mixed everything up. They embraced the plot and used it to expand and shape the worldbuilding. They went from straight laced to wild and wacky, and loved every minute of it.
S3's plot was heavily biased towards the end of the season. Much of the season was focussing on newer teams, often to the detriment of older teams. And then there was that silly tournament that dragged on way too long.
Idol Time is pumping the wacky meter to TENSION MAX and is fun as all hell. However it suffers by being too soft of a reboot/sequel. Too much time early on was spent reintroducing old characters, while the new characters just sat there. Re-using the school banning Pripara plot was a bit bleh as well. But it's still got a way to go, and Gaarmageddon seems to be ready to kick things into high gear.
