Kinda, I wouldn't describe it as grimdark since the tone is overall positive, but you will see gore, tragedy and suffering in it.
I like it though, it feels organic as part of the adventure and not just there for shock value, in fact, they never try to shock you with it but the way they show it a lot of time is rather simple.

The whole artifact thing has a very S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-ish vibe to it (or Roadside Picnic for book nerds), I think I recall people + anomalies equaling some sort of artifact in certain situations, where in the book only in the last room before the Wishgranter a sacrafice is required to deactivate the anomaly for a while so the other person can make a wish on it.
Really glad to see elements from my favorite franchise in a manga/anime.

And Ozen staring at the incinerator isn't anything impressive when she quickly made it a point to avoid getting shot by it. There's nothing that suggests she can survive a blast from Reg or the light of sparagmos, both relics explicitly capable of killing immortals, and since he never took a direct hit from the mask laser (though he was able to deflect it somehow) we never saw what that could do if it made full contact.

What it comes down to is whether she's fast enough to hit him or agile enough to dodge sparagmos, it'll take a lot more than just strength and toughness.
