That never stopped us in the days of Tokyopop. Maybe it's just because people can easily wait for digital rips to appear on goddess now?
But even then you have some autists that are scanlating series where the official english release is only like 3 days behind, when their efforts could be more rewarding and less legally dicey by picking up some more obsecure stuff that will probably never get english releases (see this thread from yesterday >>159436557).

Well shit, I guess it can't be helped, but the post above you has a good point that translators should get into english releases that will never be officially translated.
But then again popularity plays a role since some translators don't do it for free at all, y'know about those donations and all.
