It really sucks that they just gave up on Yuya's character development, like with the rest of the show.

Even up to the middle of the Synchro arc it seemed like he would have to decide whether he'd duel for smiles and entertainment, or duel seriously with dragons and violence. It was a pretty interesting dilemma, the choice between spreading positivity to change the world or fighting to save it - and save the Yuzu.
But then they just got bored of all that depth and meaning and just made smiles and happiness save the world anyway, and even reconcile entire armies of murderers. And then they gave up on that and just made him suddenly evil.

A warning to the anime fans. There is a chance VRAINS may get cancelled. Booster sales in Japan are nosediving hard and shop owners are buying less and less of the newest sets. Code Of the Duelist was a sales failure as well as Circuit Break. And the Duelist Pack was even worse. The new rule changes seem to have hit the game so hard meta decks from last year are popping back up even after various hits to these decks in the banlist. Looks like the anime hasn't done a good job shilling cards either or this is Yugioh's last chapter. The Link paywall was a mistake.

My friends and I are going to give Link rules a whirl and see what we think. We may even play God a bit with the rules and make our own amalgam to play by if Link rules are just that bad since we all want certain Link archetypes but love our current decks.

Zexal is shit all along with a handful of good episodes in between. Kaito episodes are usually really good, same for the number brothers.

Most of Yuya spells are effects that can always be integrated in monster effects or s/t. If you paid any attention you will notice that most of the effect are either Bubble Barrier or N39 effect and that is because Masahiro is a hack.
