this whole arc was a really dumb, shoehorned plot device to make haru start falling for legosi

because the author isn't skilled enough to write a convincing, natural relationship development.

I agree, it would've been better if it just stayed within the high school but the author just wanted to show Legosi mauling someone without creating a moral issue. It's not bad enough to make me drop the series but it came close to breaking my suspension of disbelief.
