The irony of your statement is that, while I was hoping my sentiment wouldn't be used as shitposting fuel, I'd actually read through all four volumes (at the time) of the raws long before threads for this series were even being made, and even longer before the scanlations kicked in.

Most recently I'd done that with Golden Kamuy as well, reading through the raws before the translators had gotten to it. The antagonists in that series are amazing as well but for completely different reasons.

As heartwarming and bittersweet as all that was, did anyone else feel like this is somehow cheating?
I feel like it makes more sense that you should only be able to sacrifice yourself to provide perks to one other person, whether it be giving them the blessing or becoming their white whistle, but not both and not to two different people.

Also can someone remind me what chapter/page explains what a Narehate is? I think that will answer a different question I have but I wasn't able to find the explanation before.

It does seems odd. It would make a lot more sense if Pushka became a second White Whistle for Science Dad. She was entirely dedicated to him. It's a bit superfluous but why not. Also the state Prushka was in as soup was similar to Mitty. After Mitty took Nanachi's burden her humanity was lost, but her soul was still in her "body" and she was still sentient. Prushka's soul was still there and still able to decide to support Riko at the end.

My problem with it was the white whistle explanation coming so soon before Prushka became one herself. It made it feel way too convenient. It was obvious from the start Prushka was being built up for a tragedy like this too.

While she was cartridged, Prushka obviously loved Bondrewd and sustained the curses for him so he could get blessed, but once she was ejected her last thoughts were on going on an adventure together.

That desire, combined with the location, is what allowed her cursed and dying body to transform into a white whistle for Riko.

That's my theory anyway, but I'll admit it's a pretty weak point in the story, and very convenient in its timing.

From Nanachi's introduction chapter, she introduced both herself and Mitty as Narehates.

She also explains how they both survived the 6th layer's curse, and how delvers typically put Narehates to death as a sort of mercy killing.

All of this leads me to believe that Narehates are "natural" End Results, or humans that lost their humanity in the abyss and became beings similar to those found in Bondrewd's garden.

That being said, I believe Mitty was a unique end result (pic related) in that she received an unusual combination of immortality and loss of humanity.

I'm pretty sure the term Narahate was introduced with some short explanation earlier in the manga, in one of the early chapters where they're still in Orth. Otherwise Nanachi introducing herself and Mitty as Narahate would have little meaning.

If they take her back, it would be stealing value, which wouldn't end well for them.
The way I see it going down, the princess is going to claim Reg as her own, but because they're outside the city, it won't count as stealing value. She'll do it by having her Big Daddy beat him to submission, then take him into the city as her property. Nanachi and Riko will find this out, and try to negotiate for his release, which the Princess obviously will refuse.
I think Nanachi and Riko will then get the bright idea to break him out, and, during the escape heist, they'll steal Prushka. The way I see it ending is that Nanachi will choose to stay behind, to make up for the stolen value of Reg and Prushka, because she is an invaluable friend to Riko and Reg, so her value would equal that of Reg and Prushka. I really hope I'm wrong, but I can see Nanachi staying behind to allow Riko and Reg to reach the bottom of the abyss, and it's been hinted at by the giraffe looking guy saying that the value of Mitty's sacrifice for Nanachi was immense, so there is great value in Nanachi.

I don't know why people only think Love is the emotion to make a white whistle. You just have to really want the person you are sacrificing yourself for the cause of that other person. It's really good. I feel like a lot of what makes it so good is the presentation. A lot of manga tries to manipulate the reader into thinking a certain way or feeling a certain way about the events and characters. But this one just lays it all out for you. None of it feels fake.
Bondrewd is the best example. His twisted lack of conventional morals is never celebrated or decried by the story. By the characters, yes, but I never felt like the manga was telling me how to feel about him. the manga never called him a villain. It let me decide that.
