I think you're overestimating how sharp greatswords are. Especially one that had just been used in battle, probably hadn't had a whetstone applied to it, and most certainly was dulled killing that one armored guy. Also as anon said human soles are quite thick and people have been known to walk on nails/hot coals and be fine. And another thing is the distribution of weight across the "sharp" surface.
