Alright, I'm gonna lay it all out here. I can't get that song Great Days out of my head after hearing it on YT. Years being into this stuff, I think my power level is a little past this point, but that song makes me want to watch JoJo. Though, looking through it, only parts 2-4 seem appealing to me.
Looks like in Part 5 you get some Italian guy all of a sudden. Then a manly chick in part 6. Some guy named Gyro in part 7 which also has Jesus Christ himself in the story. Then part 8 looks like a bunch of black people.
So /a/, should I follow this hot passion and give it a shot. Or is most of it as retarded as it looks?

Start from the beginning or don't bother with it at all.

Fuck off. I started with seeing Part 3's fight of Dio vs Jotaro, then skimmed a lot of the wiki, then went back and started watching from part 1, then starting reading. And now I'm a dedicated fan
If watching from the beginning is a turn off and you can't get through it, then don't feel forced to start from the beginning. The JoJo formula works so that any new fan can start at the beginning of any new JoJo character's story and enjoy it, not compulsively but every book and watch every episode first.
That said, you'd enjoy it more if you can power through the first part, if you're that interested.

Give part 1 a try but it's honestly not very good. Complete shit when compared to the other parts. If you don't like it after a couple episodes, just skip to part 2. That's where the fun and tone of JoJo going forward is pretty much established.
