Fuck, how many chapters ago was it? I forgot, but just looked at the chapter. She only climbed the tree because she was going after Manabu and Aki. She was catching cicadas to show off to Aki and climbed the tree just because a cicada was high up and Manabu refused to help her. She obviously enjoyed it because she's into doing sports. Just that isn't enough to classify her as a tomboy.
