I don't think japs understand left and right quite the same as westerners do. Only an idiot would think of the medium as "conservative", in a social or religious way, but it's not particularly sensitive towards the left's perception of progressivism or really pander to a critique of capitalism or nationalism. They probably wouldn't see Clinton as being much different than Trump, it's just that mannerisms are easier to make fun of.

Name 5 comedy anime that aren't centered on random, childish gags. I didn't like Inferno Cop either but the kind of humor its trying to do is no different than what you would usually see in these shows.

Sure I give you that, but Inferno Cop is specially liked here for the same reasons. There are actual good comedy anime with substance, structure and punchlines, Cromartie High is an example, Inferno Cop is just your average physical slapstick which comedy relies on bad animation and voice acting. I wouldn't mind it if I didn't see so many /a/nons liking this lolsorandom trash, it honestly reeks of reddit.
