This is one of the main reasons why I doubt Sarada would end up with Boruto. By doing so her children (as stated by Kishi) would have one Sharingan and one Byakugan. So in essence, the pure bloodline of the Uchiha would be gone. There would no longer be an "Uchiha" clan once Sarada and Sasuke die. So I doubt they're going that route. This is one of the main reasons why I think either Boruto ends up alone or taps that Sumire ass by the end.

I think an afterlife definitely exists. When Kakashi died against Pain he met his father who died decades ago but was still waiting for him in the afterlife to have a talk with him. Likewise, Rin died decades ago and was still there waiting for Obito. And the fact that Obito tells Kakashi not to come over too soon suggests there is a 'place' to come to. Speaking of canon, I feel like they're going to have to rework not only gaiden but also the movie to fit in these new characters. I don't blame them, the movie came WAY before they started writing the anime. Now they've got characters like Denki, Iwabe and Sumire and they've got to work them into canon somehow. I feel like by the time Momoshiki arc rolls around they'll have to change events up a bit to incorporate the new characters into it.

Nobody cares about SS outside of autistic shippers. Kishi certainly didn't give a fuck about it beyond making it happen so Sasuke could reproduce (otherwise that abomination would have been completely different, and something like the gaiden would have never been written). The new writer doesn't seem to care about any of the old stuff, and he shouldn't, because it's no longer the focus of the story.
