It actually sounds just fine in Japanese. Not in a logical sense but still fine. The thing is that when you're trying to translate it to your language then it becomes weird. It works more in the way that shingeki no kyojin may actually be. Attacking titan. Attack titan. Attack on titan etc. But in English you gotta choose one option so that's why it all sounds retarded.
