What's with the way they spent their animation budget on this show. Lots of the rushed scenes are very static with just voices over them as they pan. Then the fight scenes are pretty great.

In Mushoku Tensei, the childhood arc is plot relevant and necessary. Maybe they'll rush it a bit, but they can't really skip over Roxy and Sylphy without making the later story nonsensical.

With Knight's & Magic the childhood parts weren't as important. I mean, the twin's older brother; what happens to him? He just gets sent away at some far away fort, and he doesn't appear again (at least not for several volumes)
The writers probably figured it was worth skipping over boring parts to get to fun bits.

If there's a MT anime, I think they'll take the Youjo Senki route, and have Episode 1 be something like the Orsted fight, ending with Rudy being chest-stabbed, and then go back to childhood to retell how they got to chest-stabbing.
