Tough to say, the anime adaptation of Alien 9 is incredibly short, but at the same time I personally think that it does a better job of establishing the right atmosphere than the first chapters of the manga. Figure 17 is also incredible. Brigadoon kinda has a bit different feel to it I'd say, its less moody and a bit more light-hearted/shonen-y maybe, but its also pretty good.

I know of little others like them anon. Those specific ones, Figure 17 especially, are among the best and brightest that I can name. It IS pretty rare.

The closest things to those that resonates in my tiny weeb world are this and Madoka (the original anime). Thing is though, the girls there ain't lolis, but I still think the non-witch artstyle inspired by Aoki Ume is still damn cute. I know I risk losing credibility and respect for admitting that, but I will not deny it.
