I was getting really worried when I saw how quickly they were rushing to the end of the digital because I thought it meant there was going to be a really long break until the next drop but I'm ecstatic they're going to try and catch up

There has been some absolutely hilarious stuff recently

I hope this gets an anime, only because I want the author to make even more money, I don't think an anime could ever be nearly as good as the manga though

Though it is a slight shame the scan quality will be much lower, I don't know WYJ is holding out in being one of the only popular manga magazines that isn't released digitally

I was pretty bummed out when my love of this series translated to me looking up the Ainu and finding out they are hardly acknowledged as people by the Japanese or the Russians, this series made me aware they existed and the way it portrayed made me assume they were more respected

It even mentions how they were outlawed from the hunting, fishing and woodcutting that was their liveliehood, all the interesting stuff they did in the manga was punishable by law.
I mean they were pretty explicitly trying to force their culture into extinction.

It really shouldn't be too big a surprise considering how native peoples are treated pretty much everywhere.

Because it is a flagship magazine for Shueisha, it's like asking why WSJ still has its print version when they have so many digital offshots already; Young Jump already has Tonari Young Jump for digital series like One-Punch Man.

Those pages are amazing. Artists often tend to overplay crying scenes, but Sugimoto's face and gesture are pretty incredible and feel so natural.

I also find it interesting that Sugimoto's scarf is yellow and striped. Ushiyama vs Sugimoto foreshadowed fight would be the poetic and legendary fight like pic related.

For me, I think one of the perfect examples of this will always be when the gay mobster couple is dying at each other's side after they sort out their problems and feelings for each other and then the tender moment and the chapter promptly ends with Sugimoto popping out his knife to go skin one of them like it's just another day
