Gintama is an exception yes, the anime is often seen as superior to the manga. I don't know what people who've been reading BnHA from the start think about the anime adaptation but from what I've seen they stick close to the source material and the animation is decent/good.

Also I didn't say I was going to wait 3 years and wait for more of the anime. I'm planning on reading the manga anyway. I'm just wondering if I should read the manga now, starting straight after the Sports Festival Arc, or if I should watch this season to its conclusion and THEN pick up the manga. I wasn't going to wait for a third anime season.

So basically what I'm asking to the anons here who started BnHA with the manga: do you like the anime? Do you think it does a good job at adapting the manga? Is it a good idea to go read the manga right now, or should I sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of this season and then pick up the manga from there?

Anyone know how the anime industry works when it comes to deciding which studio animates a manga? Does a studio make an offer to WSJ/the mangaka? Does the mangaka have any say in which studio adapts his work?
I'm just thinking that they lucked out with Bones as the animation studio because most long-running WSJ manga get pushed to Pierrot or something and they just pump out bad-quality episodes all year round, filled to the brim with filler. Boku no Hero Academia got a much better treatment. Great animation studio, start off with a 1 cour, then a 2 cour the year after (instead of running all-year-long and drowning in filler like I said). It's like they're really pushing for a quality adaptation here. Horikoshi must be ecstatic at the success.

The whole plot thread of Toga, her quirk, and her obtaining Midoriya's blood is entirely for the purpose of resolving all this shit with a Toga vs. Uraraka catfight.

Uraraka will defeat Toga and accept her feelings for Midoriya. She'll then either decide to confess right off, or decide to wait until some arbitrary time (like being as worthy of a hero or some nonsense) if Hori wants to save it for the end of the manga.

Really it'd be refreshing if they hooked up this early, but it would slay the fujos and shippers. Like, they wouldn't stop but you definitely lose some of that audience when you burn their ships.

Midoriya isn't as obviously hard for Uraraka as Uraraka is wet for Midoriya, but Midoriya at worst will completely drop his spaghetti and not be able to properly answer if confessed to.

She's pretty close to him; and it comes off like he likes her at least (he still gets more uncomfortable when she's close than he does with most of the other girls- unless he's in full autism hero mode). I don't think he'd turn her down.

And I'm saying this as someone who finds Uraraka and Midoriya hooking up insanely boring. Most milquetoast girl with the MC because god forbid the MC hook up with anyone anyone who isn't bland AF. I'd rather Midoriya hook up with literally any of the other girls in 1-A because I prefer a contrast in personalities/looks. Both of them blasting spaghetti everywhere for the early part of the relationship will kinda get old IMO and after that Uraraka has no real notable personality traits outside of getting "fired up" off and on.

Popularity can matter a lot. It's about the whole reason Hinata won, everyone who worked on the show loved her and they eventually got to Kishimoto. He says it says planned, but if that were so he would've given Neji a better death because it was somehow necessary for him to die for NaruHina to make sense.

Sometimes it can affect how stuff is made, like Zutara was big during Avatar and so some moments were incoporated into the show for those shippers. Same with Korra and the ending. It doesn't always matter, but sometimes it can change a show or at least result in more scenes with the character everyone likes.
